I definitely don’t need a trap to handle zoos. I think I just got unlucky with no hounds plays against the first few I played. I think the stampeding kodo will really put this deck in a better spot as well.
I’m now running that hunter deck -kodo +snapjaw. Slowly getting better at using it.
Maybe I’ll throw a second flare into it for that 10-0 vs aggro mage!
Spectral Knight is going to be really annoying when it’s innervated on turn 2-3. Cool for midrange though.
Pretty pumped to try some midrange-ish Mill deck with preparation and Kidnapper with the new Spectral Blade card.
Going to try get some games with King cause I’m sure he’s one of those that can push the limit when it comes to new cards.
Duplicate is such a pain in the ass in arena, since it punishes smart play. Turn 3 secret into turn 4 yeti is a nightmare scenario, since you’re either going to get 3 for 1’d by that stupid yeti on the mage’s turn, or you just give them two more yetis to beat you to death with. If you don’t have Hex, Polymorph or Aldor Peacekeeper/Humility, you’re in for a rough game.
I knew Duplicate was going to be trouble when it was first revealed. Playing around Duplicate will just be a matter of choosing between the lesser of two evils. Do you let the opponent have duped Cairnes or duped Rags?
Shammy/Mage using hex/polymorph to trigger duplicate will be awesome. You can get creative and use leeroy and give them whelps possibly. Any other cards which spawn minions for the opponent? Tinkmaster possibly?
Druids can use Poison Seeds, hunters can use flare, be interesting to see what other classes come up with or if secret mage is even viable
I’d be fine with flare if Hunter wasn’t the only class with an answer to secrets. So wack.
Oh, I was finally able to get into the plague wing yesterday, but the unavailability of things and fear of something else screwing up caused me to not play most of the last week, so I won’t have the gold for this week’s wing. Maybe I’ll use actual money, but probably not.
Really struggling to figure out what to remove from my discard deck. I think I’m gonna start building decks with 100% gimmick in mind, figure out what it loses to most, and then start swapping out the weakest cards for cards that help that particular aspect for stability. Probably will hold off seriously playing the discard deck until i get dancing swords, then go in hard.
Anybody else starting to think that eggs sort of make watchers obsolete? Well, not obsolete, but they seem easier to get value from faster in a lot of ways, and they also are more immediately restrictive of the opponent’s play options as well.
In other news, I’ve been playing Miralock almost exclusively on ladder this season, which is to say about 15 games so far. Deck is super annoying to play against, I’m sure. Gonna see how it feels for a while…at least until dancing swords.
Coming close to beating Heroic Noth. Those 5/5 skeletons, man. Got him down to 5 health one time before the game decided to glitch out. The game doesn’t like multiple AOEs triggering, it seems.
I’ve been using a Hunter deck that’s nothing but secrets, other spells, and eaglehorn bows. I’m using a few minions like Knife Juggler to help clear the board, but bringing out even one minion is a huge risk. Having silence is a must.
@Warpticon I use both watchers and eggs in my warlock deck. Both have their uses.
What if we set up a weekly league? You play one match a week, 3/5 with changing class on a loss, can have a deadline time but flexible so long as you get the game in by then? Would be fun to see what sort of decks we can cone up with
That’s actually a pretty good idea. I’ve been slammed with college + wedding planning, so I haven’t been able to get the time opened up to set up a 2-3 hour long stretch for a tournament.
The idea I had was 1 match a week, which is as casual as it comes. There’s a set deadline for the match I’d pick (like 6:00 PST or something), but you and your opponent can play at any time convenient between the two of you before that if you wish. No submitting decklists, no constructing decks during the first to 3 (so you can have 9 decks built before the match, and choose from those), each class can only be played once. Probably play each other person once, but if enough people sign up you can break into groups and then have a playoff brackets from each group. I dunno something simple yet fun, with no pressure or huge commitment.
Random but Im gonna stream some heroes of the storm here, maybe hop to hearthstone later
