Hearthstone - That other, other, other Blizzard game

Hmm, I have a void terror. I should add it to my deck.

I guess. That’s why a number gets added to your name.

EDIT: Just wanna say again how much I love Knife Jugglers. <3

It has a real good synergy with Power Overwhelming or the Egg.
Usually a bit too slow, killing your own stuff for the better minion that might get silenced, but with the egg…
Consume egg for 4/4 and 3/5, Creeeper for a turn 3 yeti and 2 1/1.
Power Overwhelming is just the best thing and happens fairly often with those many cheap zoo minions.

I replaced my Scarlet Crusaders and I love it.
For me it was:
-2x Scarlet Crusader +2x Void Terror
-2x Argent Commander +2x Haunted Creeper
-1x Elven Archer -1x Blood Knight +2x Power Overwhelming
Void Terror might not be a great card but it’s fun. :3

I haven’t played today, so…shrug

Anyone else getting huge lag on the iPad version since the Naxxramas update?

Ok. I have 1600 dust. What do I make?

I feel like Leroy should be my go to?

Warrior Arena.

8-2 right now. I’ve played almost all Mages. Jesus.

I need to learn how not to make my Arena runs suck.

Arena’s going to be the only way I can actually get some card economy AND get into the next Naxx wings.

I would either just save gold from doing quests or buy the wings outright.

It’s 700 Gold per wing and I only have a little over 100.

Best case scenario I make 50 Gold Per day. That means it would take me two weeks just to buy one wing.

hey man I’m infinite in arena, what parts are you struggling with?

I agree that Arena is the best way to go about building a collection but you have to have top end results to do so, and it’s harder now than it was a few months ago because the overall talent level of the player base is higher now.

Probably my deck building. My last Arena run just had way too many 3 drops in it. Sad part is when you realize that…and you keep doing it anyway.

deck building is the easiest part tbh. Pick strongest card. If it’s a tie and one helps your curve more pick that one. When you get towards the last 1/3rd of the draft it’s worth checking to make sure you haven’t drafted too many spells, or your curve isn’t lopsided.

You don’t even have to do your own card evaluations with all the guides out now.

Now sometimes having an imbalanced curve is fine if the overall power level of the deck is super high(example), but in general just curving 2-3-4-5-6-5+hero power or something consistently will get you farther than anything else on average as long as you have enough card draw to make sure you don’t run out of gas. I like to have 3-8 cards that will generate card advantage between mass removal, weapons, battle cries and minions with card draw abilities.

Though I’ll say if your curve has some weird issues 3, 4 or 5 are probably the best drops too have too many of especially if you have good removal. If you can get into the mid/late game with a healthy life lead you can just card quality most people out of the game.

I think Paladin/Druid/Mage are the easiest decks to build/play because the class cards are just full of removal and there aren’t any really weird mechanics to worry about. You can just get pure value out of a lot of cards. I think Rogue is hard to build because not a lot of the class cards build a lot of card advantage and the ones that do like weapons or combos require other cards to be effective, so your actual deck construction and not just your card quality matters more for your results, i’d avoid it if you’re trying to be consistent because the effort to get good at it is a bad investment if you need to get gold asap. Shaman is somewhat similar to Rogue, but I think a bit easier if you get how overload works and it’s a bit easier to play because hero power requires less forward thinking.

When i wasn’t as good at arena i’d practice deck building on the arena sims on hearthpwn or hearthhead, though hearthhead currently has unreleased cards in the cardpool it shows you what cards you didn’t take easier so it’s a bit easier to identify where you messed up. Overall this just gives you a better feel for deckbuilding though and your mistakes don’t cost you gold.

Oh and one last thing, if your deck DOESN’T have a lot of card draw, mana efficiency and hero power usage are king. 2 drop + hero power(as long as it’s not just to the face) is better than most any 3 drop on t4 if your hand isn’t looking so hot but has the potential to reset board state or something. This also lets you keep flexibility for future turns. It’s obviously context specific but this is something I don’t see talked about much. Hero powers are generally kind of bad, but it’s better to make a totem/recruit and a 2 drop than make a 3 drop and have it get outright killed especially on a clear board on t4.

also these posts apparently helped AreEyeSeaKay

Racing sometimes feels kind of dumb, but why give up your tempo advantage?

Went 12-2 at my gf’s house with her ipad. Had a pretty insane mage deck with no fireballs, no flamestrike, no polymorph.

but it had a really good curve and overall solid minions and cards, 3 frost bolts, 2 water eles, 2 argent commanders, annnnnnnnddddd

Fucking malygos and the black knight. Malygos barely did anything during the 12 wins except vs a druid where he had to blow about 4 cards just to get rid of him, but the fucking black knight killed atleast 2-3 Sunwalkers, 2 ironbarks, 1 ancient of war, a tazdingo, and other misc taunts. Dude was absolutely wrecking shit nearly every game and pretty much made every game a instant win because of the sheer amount of tempo I get from blowing up a taunt that took most of their turn.

Funnier thing is that, the deck was practically one big hard counter to druids and I ran into about 5-6 or so. 2 of the losses were to priests because the deck couldnt stabilize vs a fully buffed board that heals after trades. I’ll post the full deck list later.

Druids also have such a hard time vs turn 4 water elementals if their board is weak.

Veserius’ posts really helped me out. I’m not infinite by any means, but I’m getting 3 wins minimum most of the time with a few runs in the upper single digits.

When drafting, consider best value most of the time. When playing, know your aoe! You don’t want to play around aoe too much in case they don’t have it, but playing 2 4/4 on turn 6 vs a mage is asking for trouble.

On the other hand, if you are sitting on an aoe, don’t be too afraid to bait out more cards before using it. Waiting until turn 8 to flamestrike has single handedly won me games in the 7-8 win range

Every single fucking priest that I have played lately manages to take 2 x equality and at least on Guardian of Kings from me

On a happier note I managed to shut down a Van Cleef for 4 turns by using humility and aldors on him every time he got bounced back to the hand

I did it. I caved and crafted a Leeroy. I have a sick feeling in my stomache that some form of nerf may be coming to him…

If they make changes to him, you get to disemchant him for the full 1600 dust, so fear not

Man. Zoo is amazing with leeroy…

After messing around with multiple Priest decks, I just decided to go back to Ancient Watcher priest + eggs, since Cabal Shadow Priest is super value in this metagame.

I don’t put leeroy in much of my decks aside from the decks where he’s a core card or some straight to the face aggro deck that’s not aggro mage.

Only legendary i’d put in zoo would be cho though maybe in some standard variation without eggs. Cho with eggs might be pushing it.

He MIGHT get nerfed but from the looks of all the cards practically designed to fuck over miracle rogue that’s being released, It’s harder to say if he will get nerfed. Knowing Blizzard they’ll take their long ass time.
