I recently bought a Little Dot 1+ headphone amp. So far I’ve just used it to connect my headphones to my ps3 (I’ve got the ps3 hooked up to the evo monitor - stock sound sucks). My ps3 now sounds much better to me, plus in the future when I save up for better headphones, I’ve already got an amp. (ps3 -> stock rca cables -> amp -> headphones)
I just recently got those and I think the sound is too muddled (and I love my bass, but it drowns out the mids and highs IMO)
Also I wear glasses and dislike how much it squeezes your head. Not comfortable.
I personally prefer the JVC Flats (HA-S150). Slightly cheaper, much more lightweight, and has just as good (or very slightly less) sound on the lows as the v150s, but with better mids and highs.
I’ve used them with an assortment of devices and found them to be adequate. What are your EQ settings like? They’re not stellar but for the price it’s pretty good.
I also wear glasses and have used the headphones to watch a movie and they were fine with me.
Can anyone recommend me some usb circumaural headphones with a mic that is compatible with the ps3? I currently use a bluetooth headset and I’m just tired of having have to charge it all time. I just want something that works, but not too cheap. Mostly using this for fps games like mw2.
While i dunno how they stack up against higher end headphones, compaired to skullcandy lowriders, or inked earbuds, or any $10 or less pair of earbuds/headphones, and probrably the ipod earbuds, these things own.
Best headphones i’ve ever owned hands down. Not saying much though, i’m sure any good pair of audio technica headphones will kill these in terms of preformance, but all things considered these are great.
Tally up another vote for portapro’s. I’ve always been a sennheiser guy but, as far as portable headphones go, I’m really impressed by the portapro.
If you’re buying giant headphones for home use or comfort, I like the Sennheiser HD555 or similar. I haven’t tried AT headphones but I’ve used their microphones a lot. They’re pretty impressive.
Also, the PS3 will only play other people on their mics through the headphones. It will not output all of the sound to the headphones. Thats why I said just get any cheap usb headphones. Most of the time you’ll only have one cup on your ear anyways so you can hear the TV, so it’s not worth it getting snazzy ones.
if you dont have a pair of headsets, buy a set that comes with headphones and a amp. trittons ax pro/ astros a40 / turtle beach are fine, and they do the job. gaming headset ARE inferior to studio/reference headphones but aren’t necessary for gaming. all that said i assume you have a 360 or ps3.
dammit, nvm then. i wanted headphones with game AND voice sounds coming from the headphones not the tv. oh well, i guess i’ll just stick with my separate headphone and bluetooth set up lol. thanks though.
the stock “premium” headphones that came with my zune 80 are not bad at all. pretty good sound, better than other stocks and ish. they still work, but don’t look as good as b4. once they die, I know where to look :3
honestly i love to listen to music while gaming. i usually tend to buy Sony headphones, they’re great and they have that nice tight fit qith good quality.right now i bought the Sony MDR-V250’s. they’re really great! but the one’s i really want are the MDR-V500’s…they look so god like and at a good price too
