HDR PS3 - Worth It?

That XBox fanboys seem to bring up that 360 > PS3 regarding HDR almost once a week on this forum.

Not a fan boy of either system but, the PS3 version on HDR is lacking a lot for one the
playing speed offline in a known problem thats why at Season Beating 4 HDR on the PS3 was set to speed 4 and not 3 and, everyone agreed that it felt right. Who you may ask well people who played this game there whole life like DAIGO, DGV, JUSTIN WONG, MYSELF (only been playing for about a year and a half now) and DAMDAI just to name a few people.

Also when we were playing HDR on the PS3 the system would Def drop input almost every time i did bison TOD’s i lost the combo thinking that it was me i ran up to my room to use the 360 and, everyone came out like clockwork. Also so there were people playing HDR with Dee Jay trying the cross over combo and, evey time it was done i mean every time he would cross over and try to LINK the cr. HP it would wiff right thru the other person this happened every time in front of everyone.

The PS3 version is only played more at Tourney becuse now adays there for SF4,BB,KOF and SBB and, then HDR bring up the rear so no noe really cares except the handful that go to play HDR. that’s the only reason that its on the PS3 and, not 360 if the TOP HDR players would say somthing like AFRO or GRAHAM and the other then maybe we would see change.

I spoke to SETH at SB4 about maybe trying to get HDR on 360 fro EVO this in 2010 hope it happens imma talk to AFRO about it as well…

Sorry about the long rant and no grammar or Punctuation sorry about that

Input lag, or a bug that sometimes occurs during download are the only possibilities at this point.

What we need is people to go I found problems! Then we need to take that copy and test on that copy. Ganelon tests on his and finds nothing, yet there is a few people mav/sjv that feel something else.

Maybe the next time it fails, you guys could do some tests and record that particular copy. Its the only way to confirm.

Really? I’ve never experienced that on 360.

Of course I’ve only SEEN it on PS3, so that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen, and maybe it doesn’t get as much pub b/c 360 isn’t used at tournaments or whatnot.

I have gone to numerous tourneys and, have used atleast 50 or more PS3 system and, i can say with not felling bias at all that the PS3 at each tournament runs the same way and has the same input lag and the dropping of combos it really has nothing to do with the download load because if that was the case then anyone could just delete and redownload the game to fix the problem i mean if you read adound you will see plenty of people have done the same case study that you did and, found that the PS3 version with most Characters not all have a problem connection’n combos well.

Lets say if you tahe RYU and do his combos like jump RH to L.mk to Fireball. It works like clockwork. But if you do the j.HK cross to 3 lk to Super like DGV did to Digao twice but, what you may not know is that he spent 3 days trying the combo on the PS3 and still drop the combo twice while fighting diago but, on the 360 he hits it like Clockwork its that PS3 has noting to do with download its the system that is have troblem running the game for some reason.

hey Norieaga,

have you sanded down the little wall around the dpad yet? you really, really need to. it makes a huge difference in the response of the pad. I used a un modded controller at work the other day and even on the dashboard, its just soooo slow. going down a menu is like down......down......down.....down. once its been sanded back, its down, down, down, down. no delay between inputs.

Couldn’t have been the stress of fighting daigo?

I would not think so, We were playing him durning Casual matches as well.

Yeah, that was brought to my attention already. Read why it’s a non-factor in my last post on the comparison topic: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=208872

You all claiming differences are going to have to provide a lot more evidence. So far, the best concrete possibility has been Dee Jay’s crossup j.MK,c.HP except that it’s not an example in your belief’s favor. If Dark Gaiden is having input issues performing his impressive combo specifically on PS3, let’s hear the details from him. I’d like to think I’m saving Evo from needless hassle; after all, should they really scrap all their existing PS3 consoles and start using 360s only for HDR and with no proven reason?

I have no preference for console and am one of few to have played HDR extensively, offline and online, PS3 and 360. I still don’t consider myself a good tester of lag since I’ve played in too many variable lag conditions but by the same token, I don’t trust anyone else primarily playing online either. Turbo 4 on both platforms feels more natural to me since it plays closer to the DC ST default speed and average ST arcade speed but if turbo 3 is preferred, I can deal with that to. I just want to expose truths and nip false rumors in the bud.

I read your post already.

And, how can you say drop’n a combo link does not matter of course it does.
by the PS3 dropping one combo link more then likely means that it drops other combos as well.

I guess what i am saying is that PS3 and 360 HDr runs just the same but, the little hiccups that the PS3 can’t handel is what makes the 360 version just a bit better.

And who ever gave me NEG rep just because i did not agree with there post is gay as hell. Grow The Fuck Up.

Well, if you read my post, then you already know Dee Jay’s c.HP whiffing (which was a nice easy-to-test situation) has nothing to do with the PS3. It’s another illusion resulting from a lack of knowledge. This whole situation reminds me of a player who was convinced that the DC version of ST was glitched when he saw that claw didn’t always touch the wall when wall diving there, even though that’s how claw’s wall dive has always worked even in the arcade.

And yes, dropping a link combo certainly matters. But when I practice that link 3 times and then pull it off 10 times in a row without a problem, that raises doubts about whether it’s a human or game problem. People miss combos; it happens all the time by he best. When Graham Wolfe played Otochun in HSF2 at SBO and missed every j.HP->c.MK->c.MP combo (although he still ended up winning anyway because of smart play), did he attribute it to input dropping? No, it was his unfamiliarity with the controls, unfamiliarity with the speed, pressure, and/or plain messing up.

I’m just saying as far as I can tell and prove to the best of my ability, the 2 versions run the same. You and SweetJV are so far the only ones who in light of my tests are still convinced the game feels different; now find something that can be verified and I’ll be the first person to agree with you that 360 is the only way to go. Until that time, why not presume innocence before proven guilty?

Anyway, not sure who you’re talking to about in that last post considering you only disagreed with my post and I’m not even able to give rep yet…

I could not find the post that NKI, put up about HDR Ps3 Vs. 360 but, even after weeks of playing, if i remember that post right he was also onboard with the 360 version over the PS3 and, we all know that NKI really studies the games befor he post.

but, i PM him about it and if he could foward that link to me so i could post it here.

And, the post about NEG REP was for who ever did not you, if it was not u.
