HDR Missing Persons Thread

Well form what i have been seeing is that yuu loses to chun,guile,dj and gief all the time while maverick has prob if i remember with only guile i think. even if yuu had better match experience, in total maverick is ultimately better, not saying yuu is not great by all means he makes me look like a novice.

ost people just pick as one of, or the best because his a well know ST player does not mean that his the best. Hell i like zass and even thou his an ass (dekor) bisons over his.

Dude, that is just straight up nonsense.

yuuvega still plays ST

i’m the best cammy on psn… and offline too. Come to a major and play me for $$$.

That is all.

I am going to have to agree with Bruce, Zass and Dekor and Maverick being better then YuuVega? I don’t thinkso. Those three are good bisons without a doubt, but YuuVega just has some solid skills with his Bison and can edge out those three. He definitely gives my blanka the hardest time

I want to play your Cammy Syxx I really want your style of play. You have always seemed pretty confident with you skills too bad we will probably never get a chance to play each other

I put a bunch of links up there, but I am pretty sure you meant this one … and well, yeah, I agree with it 100% too - cos I wrote it. :stuck_out_tongue: So I’m glad someone else agrees. :slight_smile:

I wouldn’t mind some constructive criticism on the writing style though - although I have to admit it wasn’t one of my best. The other thing to note is that everything on my site kind of flows on from previous articles so I admit they often read a lot better in context. That article in particular related to a lot of my previous material, so you’re only reading a piece of a train of thought in some ways. If you’ve written anything like this yourself though, please share it, I’m always after good links and info on this kind of thing. :slight_smile:

Sup, Remy?

I do not think I have written anything about that but maybe some random post in Brazilian forums.

I would review them, but at the moment I have some scientific articles (undergraduate level, tough) to review, not to mention my own things, so I can not promise you anything. Not at all, in fact!

As for Street Fighter II, I believe the even better option would be to have a game mode similar to supercade in the sense you wait for a game, but different as you play the same person only once or twice, and then you immediately connect to someone else. With an option to limit latency, this could give a similar feel from the arcade when you are winning, but without the drawback of waiting when you lose and there are many people on the line. You would be secretly ranked for it, but players would have the option to remove the limitation, so beginners start being protected by the matchmaking, but the ones not afraid of severe losses like me will be allowed to play against the good players, if they also disable the matchmaking limitation.

There are limitations, one of them being the technology (GGPO, for instance, often has trouble connecting people), but with proper design the issues can be minimized. For example, people should have the option of searching for games until it actually connects, which would remove the annoyance of going through menus all over again every time a disconnect (intentional or not) happens. If you check those videos from DSP (Sagat Madness), you will probably agree that while it is disappointing to have a match fail, the nuisance of going through the whole process again together with bugs finding people is what really drives people crazy.

Another dream mode would be, for what now are the player rooms:
[]four player rooms;
[
]automatic tournament with default option of not espectating, that is, both brackets happen at the same time;*
[]as soon as the small tournament ends, the players are prompted a screen with the results;
[
]as players click “OK” on the results screen, the game reseeds the tournament with 1st and 2nd on each bracket and swiches 3rd and 4th players, in case those were also 1st and 2nd at the previous one.
so with players A, B, C and D, assuming A beats all others, B beats all but A and so on, it would be
[
]A faces C, B faces D;
[]A faces B, C faces D;
[
]tournament ends, have C turn D and the other way around, then start it all over.
here is my format

play ft10 with people and try your hardest then brag about it for eternity

laughs well if that’s all you’re after Syxx573 then you’re in luck - very easy to do that with current online systems. Although not that easy to get proof or recording of it unfortunately on HDR.

Nice ideas oldschool_BR! :slight_smile: Yep I’ve put tons of ideas down about matchmaking, and I like all your ideas too. The point is that fighting games desperately NEED to do something way better than how they are doing it right now. SSFIV has some more moves (for matchmaking) in the right direction at least. But fighting games are years behind stuff like StarCraft II.

I have to say I dropped back in for a few rounds of ‘ranked’ last night after not playing for a long time. I got matches fairly quickly - not instantly, that was XBOX Live - 11:00 PM time.

I almost always play ranked, the reason is I rarely get to play for more than 30 minutes, so spending 20 minutes watching other people tends to be an inefficient way of spending my limited game time.

The reason I stopped playing was partly due to getting more games, partly because I went on Holiday and partly because I was getting a bit obsessive about it - if I was playing ranked, I would have to finish at even stevens or one win more than I started, I simply could not stop if the results were anything otherwise… Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not a top-flight player as any who’ve played will attest, but I’m not bad with Claw - and sometimes I would have played in the past - and would really struggle to get wins, other times I would pwn 6 people in a row 3 - 0 with a perfect and a super finish thrown in for good measure… All depended on the time I played, I even started coming up with certain bad times to play for both ends of the scale, not having any competition is boring on both sides of the win/loss line.

As it stands I’m going to play a bit more again, I can’t afford to play too much though - because I don’t want to be back in the situation of getting up a 4:00 am on a Saturday morning so I can 4 hours of streetfighting in before my wife wakes up and kicks me off the XBOX…

Good to see another player coming back :slight_smile:

I think the answer to your problems is player match. No one cares about scores in there, and it doesn’t count for anything either. Just play your best and have fun, and not get annoyed about that stray loss losing your rank. Don’t like waiting? Can always set up a 2 player lobby.

IMO player matches are the home of much better players too. Pretty much everytime I go to ranked I get Akuma players or people who quit instead of taking their loss (rocksil, pspyas I’m looking at you). Since there’s nothing at stake, people tend to get a bit less pissy about their losses. Give it a go.

As one player comes back another leaves. My Gold Membership ran out yesterday, and I probably won’t renew it unless I can somehow get my hands on a one month free somehow. Sucks I wanted to do that online 2v2 tournament too.

Syxx for the record, you may be the best Cammy on PSN but I’m calling you out for next Naptown Clash, you better be there for that Cammy mirror (even though we know its not the best way and I’m honestly terrible at the Cammy mirror…) I’ll throw down the $$$ with ya.

I do this to remind everyone of how I beat Zass’s chun everyday :tup:

Speaking of Zass, whoever said Dekor has a better Bison has to be on drugs. We played something like 35 games the other night and his Bison is DAMN good… Dekor is a pestulient whiny man child who’s only talent is throwing profanity.

ok I can tell you right now (as a bison player) and mirror matches don’t mean shit. How do I know this you ask? Because the one time that I DID play YuuVega was a Bison mirror and I won. And I know that I’m by far NOT the best bison out there. Besides Bison mirrors tend to go like this:

*get first hit
*knockdown
*???

PROFIT!

Didn’t he get accused of using turbo by someone on here?

Another one bites the dust… such as the HDR life span on line.

Dekor or Zass? Zass is one of the nicest most honest guys I think who plays HDR. Not to mention he’s actually really good. Two time 9th placer at EVO so he’s got real game and I have never and would never accuse him of using turbo. Dekor probably uses turbo, I mean I don’t know that and its speculation, so I should say, it wouldn’t surprise me.

Sorry I was talking about Dekor…someone said that everytime they would try to throw the guy, his throw would get reversed by his throw. I never played the guy so IDK

I wish I would’ve gone to evo…maybe I would’ve placed 9th :sad:

I doubt Dekor uses the turbo…I’ve been playing him since Hyperfighting & i never had to raise my right eyebrow…As for determining who is the better player, it all depends on the color underwear they wear…Orange Gief > then all Giefs

Lime green chonies FTW.

Whatcha gonna do, when the yellow hulk hogan tights gief runs wild on you, brother???
