Melee requires practice and execution levels. Brawl I just body people because they press silly buttons. Remember KCon 09? 2Dios is a huge head in the NW Brawl scene and he was the only person to take a game or set off of me.
Yes, I do. I remember it very well. Paying to be able to work at a con, working a straight 36+ Hour shift because the higher ups have their heads higher up…oh wait…
Haha, but yeah. I remember the double random in the first round and then getting food. LoL. Talk to any guys you know out of town though. Will it be streamed by me…50/50 but probably not. Although the SF stream (and possibly Tekken) will be GODLIEK!!!
Don’t stream Brawl. Your streams are good. Did you catch Markman giving you some shoutout love on the NCR stream?
Yeah, cause I have been talking to him lol! But nah…with all the equipment I plan on bringing up (now that some new stuff has been released) Brawl might need to get streamed if Chris’ guy can’t make it. Or, I may use it for Tekken 6 if I can get it in/get the tekken players to show any kind of interest
Brawl never needs to get streamed.
Who is 2Dios?? I have run Smash (Melee and Brawl) for 5 years and never heard of him… so honestly, unless that is some 2nd name he uses, he is a no one at least in Brawl, and likely Melee also.
I have had the top 30 on the West Coast at my events multiple times and quite a few of the top 10 in the US.
Brawl still takes skill… but it is not nearly as technical as Melee no doubt.
Brawl is streamed by Dr.Mario and PikaDude usually at GC, so I am sure they will be doing Smash in general.
BTW there was a Tournament & Events post for this event, it son page 3 right now., haha But whatever if more ppl go to your version so much the better.
Tudios. He has made an appearance at Kumoricon in the past couple years. Wouldn’t know about last year, I was at the better event lol
I don’t think he travels out of Portland, or if he’s even local to portland
I know Tudios. He does not travel much. He is not one of the top in the PNW.
He is good though. I think he is ranked 7th or 8th on Oregon PR, but in the PNW PR he is not ranked in the top 20.
He usually comes up to Sakura-Con and attends GC 3 or 4 times a year.
Ok so I registered through paypal for SSF4 1v1 and 3v3 but it didn’t ask for a name or anything. But ya, Shred is preregistered and I have the receipt for it.
Ah, so he’s not as good as I expected. Xeris was hyped on him when we talked about it but this was all last year anyway. Still looking forward to beating people up..
When is Ian not hyped?
…Well shit. Can we talk about not-Brawl now?
Sure.
Fuck your magic deck. lol
You need to play my new shit. Download Magic Workstation yet? I like playing for free..
Nah. Been trying to get a filing system built on my computer, and also prepping for the Dec. 4th tournament
Got it! Thanks
Who else??/ Come on Online Reg is REALLY important for this event! My Venue costs are on a sort of sliding scale… the more online reg I can show the Trail Blazers, the better the venue deal (because the ticket promo and venue are linked…they want to see tickets move and # of tickets moving = # of online reg in a way)
Since its a LEAGUE event… everyone should be at this thing also! Its only $10 more then a regular GC SSF4 event…with bigger prizes
Registered.
Anyone going down who would like to carpool? My truck can only hold 2 for a ride lasting 3 hours, so I can’t drive, but I can chip in for gas money.
What are your numbers from Smash and Halo/CoD so far?
Possible $500-$750 cash sponsor for SSF4. I am working on locking it up today and tomorrow!!! fingers crossed
WE NEED INPUT ASAP:
Tekken6 - Yes? No?
3S - Yes? No?
ST - Yes? No?
OFFICIAL SIDE EVENTS: - No Online Reg option for these
HDR 1v1
3rd Strike 1v1
If not in ANY other event and you ONLY intend to play in one or both of these events:
(this option does not get you in the NBA Ticket give away or allow you to get into other events for the +$10 option)
Entry Fee: $10 per Event (cash at venue)
If you want into the NBA Ticket raffle or participate in any other events, then you need to pay the $30 Event Entry Fee (which will result in more prize pool money also)
If you are in other events and have paid the $30 Entry Fee, these events are +$5 to enter per event
$10 Break Down:
About 50% of the entry fee will go to Prize Pool. We will try and sup the prize pools with something from sponsors (TBD)
If you pay the $30 option to play in these two events, then about $7.50-$10 per entry will go to Prize Pools (so a signif jump in prize money) and you will be ellig for the NBA game ticket as well.
If you are in other events and add these at the $10 per event then all $10 additional goes to prize pool.
SO for those interested in Prize Pool money (and who isnt?), the $30 Entry Option and/or the +$10 add on from another event is BY FAR the most profitable way to do this.
