Yeah that was designed so you can’t accidentally put in a key cap in sideways/ rotated 90 degrees onto a switch.
You could put on a keycap in upside down, but I hope that the keycap is upside down on a keyboard would be obvious for people, especially those kepcaps with printed legends.
I think they keyboard switches get more abuse as a arcade button then they do on a keyboard. Don’t get me wrong I think Cherry MX switches are superior to majority of the switches Sanwa and Seimitsu uses.
I don’t typically mash on all 108 keyboard key switches that rapidly, or often as I would on 6 arcade buttons.
Hope the next HBFS’s come as screw-ins, just removed a set from one of my arcade sticks and it was quite the experience even with vice grips/pliers/screwdrivers lol
And give us a more secure method of installing switches, dammit. I’m perpetually scared of pressing a button and having the switch pop out with the cap still attached to it lol
