and maybe some Arcana Heart on the side, lol.

Cool cool, I was about to tell you about that.

Kurokun on HBB’s Melty Blood:rofl:, too funny to forget.

Random things-
-At my friend’s sign shop, he has a rival schools cabinet.
-I don’t play Garou.
-Did you find the rgb to s-video thing?

im working on learning guilty gear, and arcanan heart, but im actually more interested in Naruto ultimate ninja storm, that demo is crazy fun!!! And well i already started learning to link abunch of shit togther, me and kimo have some fun on that one.

Holla maaaang! I can probably try answer some of your questions about GGXX:AC if you have any on Saturday. I don’t know Sol tho…

I know some Sol stuff. What do you wanna know?

actually i would love to learn either sol or may. That dolphin loop thingy. But just randomly playing im more comfy with Sol.

No more dolphins please. Unless Bears gives up May for Axl then…it might be okay, lol.

Sol Basics:
-Gunflame: qcf+p, FRCable
A ground based fire projectile, decent but has some startup, that’s where the FRC comes in. Learn it in training mode with display option ‘input’ on. essential to his pressure/mixup game.
-Volcanic Viper; dp+S or HS, knockdown followup: qcb+K
Sol’s DP move, beats out a lot of other moves, is good anti air and combo ender with knockdown followup, Can be baited on wake up so be careful.
-Bandit Revolver: qcf+K, also in air
A forward moving multi hit spin kick, good as combo follow up after a down+D in a ground combo or in some air combos. Has some priority but do not use in a block string.
-Wild Throw: dp+K
Command throw that launches into air. Leads to Sidewinder Loop. One of your goals in a matchup is to land WT and follow up into SW loop. Used in conjunction with GF FRC as a mixup option.
-Sidewinder: qcf+HS in air only
Fire punch in air, has special ‘clean hit’ property if done right (the impact hit will freeze) which allow for follow up combo, hence SW loop. The clean hit is tricky to get at times and differs from which character you are fighting. Loop is good for 2 to 3 reps, possibly 4 but damage caps off quickly and isn’t worth doing much.

BnB ground combo:
-5K, f.S, c.S, 2D>BR or VV>knockdown

BnB WT combo:
-WT, j.S, clean SW, land 2H, j.S, clean SW, land, j.S, VV>knockdown
This is a basic SW loop and should work on most everyone. There are other variations that are better than this one but are more intensive in execution. The j.S’s you have to jump forward a little bit before the SW, the 2H you may have to dash then do it into the next part afterward. Practice and see what works but the idea is to get a feel for how the loop works in regard to the SW and parts in between.

This should get you started. KOG can explain it better if he comes online.
But I can take any Q’s you may have about stuff.

thanks kurokun!!! ill start working on this right away!! when i was messing around with Sol i had come accross something i though was a loop i think this is it, i just didnt really know what i was doing. And actually i won some XX games online using sols Destroyer move as a wake up and last seoncd ani air…is that the best way to execute it? as its got a short sartup time.

im also looking into getting melty blood…is it any good and you guys interested in giving it a spin?

I have and played melty blood for a while when it came out, but I haven’t played it recently. To me it’s very similar to guilty gear, but simplified and different buttons.

really? oh ok. lol. I heard about it and wanted to give it a shot, seeing as im kinda having fun with rumble fish. RF has some interesting ideas. Just think the small character roster hurts it. But the boss greed is insane, ANTI EVERYTHING!!!

There are more examples of the SW loop in action via YouTube so you might wanna search on there if you get the chance.

Using the IK as AA works provided your opponent doesn’t overpower you with a better jump in attack cause Sol is very vulnerable on the way up and can be hit out of it, heck the IK can even be blocked. On wake up is even more iffy cause the hitbox on the IK is small and can possibly whiff completely cause Sol flies up 45 degrees.
Best way would have to be as AA if you think its guaranteed but like I said you can be hit out of it and it can be spotted. As for startup I think its kinda slow but whether an opponent sees it coming its another thing. Its ‘okay’ to IK in casual play but not really cause it can be done to you as well, lol. Thing is, you can kinda tell what’s going on if someone lingers in IK mode for a long while too. And in IK mode you lose tension based abilities then you lose lifebar if you run out of tension. Also if you miss the IK you lose the tension gauge for the rest of the round. The main reason most often people go into IK mode is if they did a(n) FRC/RC with 4 buttons instead of 3. It happens by accident and they quickly shift out of IK mode to regular. No one uses them really considering the level of play but it happens in certain situations.

One friend that I used to play with tried to IK me all the time besides double ODing me, the latter of which I could deal with. I eventually responded in kind with IKs against him with his own chars and he stopped doing them. There’s better things to do then IK anyway, just don’t fall back on it thinking its gonna bail you out cause more often than not it won’t. It then becomes a gimmick that your opponents will expect and punish you accordingly for attempting an IK.

On another note, I like Melty Blood and wouldn’t mind getting back into it if people started playing this game again. I’m down for some MB:AC action.

I’ll bring MB on saturday. I guess we’ll have a loli-fighter day(honestly have no idea what that means).

Dolphin loops are my favorite…
