Has anyone tried the new Hori Fighting Commander 3 Pro Pad yet?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tv8bkNW0MQ4 Vid of someone using the controller with Sagat pretty good stuff.

does this version of the pad work with any of the ps2/ps3 to 360 convertors out there?

I tried it with a converter it didn’t work. But this was the pro converter. I’m guessing its because the pad is so new. Maybe a newer converter will work.

G4tv.com reviewed the controller if anyone is interested. http://www.g4tv.com/videos/55325/hori-tactical-assault-commander-3-and-fighting-commander-3-pro/

I have one and it seems to be a good controller the only issue I have with it and it might just be me but, I can’t consistently do Cammy’s air cannon strike or Makoto Axe kick off a jump low to the ground with the Hori Commander Pro and I can do both of these with ease on my Saturn pad :frowning: Sucks to cause they are two of my favorite characters in the game.

How is this compared to the trusty old Sega Saturn USB pad? May get one if it’s better, for when I can’t use my stick.

Both the HFC3 and Pros can be dual modded

just bought it, but i don’t like the dpad. it’s way too stiff, even when you adjust it to the loosest setting. the hori pad would destroy the saturn pad if not for the dpad. another problem with the hori pad is that they placed R1 and R2 on the face of the pad: horrible mistake. it should be R1 and L1 or R2 and L2. why? because if you want to re-arrange your buttons for say (SSF4), you can’t assign buttons to any of the two opposite back triggers(which is where your fingers naturally rest). you can move your L1 and L2 buttons over to the right side, but what if you want to use those triggers on opposite sides? meaning one on the left and one on the right. you can’t, because L1 and L2 can’t be separated. stupid.

hori had the correct idea with the fight commander pro 3, but they just dropped the ball.

the perfect pad:
sega saturn style responsive/floating dpad
6 hori fight commander pro 3 style face buttons
R1 and L1 or R2 and L2 on the face of the pad
4 shoulder buttons like hori did, with the ability to switch.
size of the hori pad is perfect.

update:
after rotating the dpad i’ve become more comfortable with the pad, and now it’s working like it should. so anybody thinking about buying it should buy it.

Does the input range adjustment for the d-pad do a good job of accounting for the fact that it isn’t a floating d-pad? I was pretty set on trying this out before seeing Madcatz release new pads for SFxT that are wired on both systems. Now I’m undecided because I’m used to playing with Madcatz pads and wouldn’t want to have some issues with practicing at home on one pad type and playing on another in tournaments (typically 360 only).

Ordered mine, this is the pad I have been WAITING FOR. ALL Buttons on ONE SIDE FTW.

Works on PC TOO, this is THE PAD. Wonder why they didnt make it for xbox too?

I think its because its licensed by sony. which kind of sucks.

I have a problem with the dpad locked setting because the dpad will sometimes rotate to 20 degrees when im playing. Anyway to fix it?

That wouldn’t be it, being licensed to one manufacturer doesn’t stop you making multiple versions (e.g. Madcatz Fightpad).
More likely, Hori just don’t care for the 360 licensing requirements, or can’t make their button-swap trick work with the 360’s security chip (Madcatz’ MLG pad couldn’t, either).

Anything like this for 360?

Well even though I have to wait for 2012 at least I have something to be happy about having PC version! I get to use this.

sigh… this pad can be dual modded to work on 360.

Thanks, like any other gaming peripheral I use I figured it could be modded. You mentioned that a few posts up anyway. What I meant was if there is an official one for 360 that can be bought ready to go without the need to mod. Now that its January, I was hoping someone heard something.

Hori never made a 360 version of the Fighting Commander 3. They did make the Xbox 360 HORI PAD EX2 Turbo which is a 6 faced button and 4 shoulder button pad, but its design is totaly different.

Has anyone tried that PDP controller with the microswitches?

do not buy the pdp microswitch controller. there were dead spots in the left corners. if you hit left/up, the left wouldn’t register sometimes. then if you move more towards left, there would be a spot where neither up or left would register even though you’re holding in that corner.
