Everything else on DC has been ported to PS2, PS3, and 360.
Bernie Stolar is the reason DC failed, damn you murica!

Someone refresh my memory, which Japanese 3rd parties that supported Saturn, abandoned Sega when Dreamcast came out? Can’t think of any.
I don’t know if any outright refused to develop for it (certainly you could find a decent 3rd party library on the system, relative to its short lifespan), but they weren’t happy about the situation. Sony and the PS2 gave them an easy way out of the mess, and a lot of them went for it when the time came.
Capcom was one of the few outright enthusiastic supporters of the system, probably owing to how some of their arcade boards were Naomi-based. …Come to think of it, you could probably keep yourself entertained for a very long time using a Dreamcast and nothing but a Sega/Capcom library for it.
I don’t JP had a problem with the DC. It was EA.
CVS2: EO on Xbox is the best version and MGO takes less skill than any COD

3rd parties flocked to PS2 because it was the sequel to the insanely popular PS1. There might have been other reasons in the background, but that was the #1-with-a-bullet reason. At the time, PlayStation held the momentum and the keys to all system-selling games, and was guaranteed to be a success. Surprising that Dreamcast was fairly supported by 3rd parties (I’m sure Saturn ending up 2nd place in Japan played a role), despite the coming PS2 juggernaut.

I’m making it priority to hunt down all the fighting games released on the dreamcast. I’m currently looking at The Last Blade 2, Tech Romancer, Capcom VS SNK 2, and Marvel VS Capcom 2. Project Justice being the very last game I’m going to get.
I know I’m pretty late and this thread is kind of irrelevant now but heres a video I made sampling Shenmue and Soul Calibur. The second beat doesn’t count though.

Did CVS1 come out on DC? I can’t remember. Anyway, the 4-player games was where it was at. Puyo Puyo and Bomberman were fucking awesome.
Both CvS1 and the Pro update were released on the Dreamcast
PS1 only got Pro though, don’t know why Capcom even bothered with that release as it was all around inferior to the Arcade/Dreamcast version
My Dreamcast can still play Marvel 2, God bless you Past Sega, God bless you.

The PS1 version of Pro was definitely playable. There were lower quality special effects and loading times but I didn’t notice any gameplay differences (I never played CvS “in the lab” super-seriously admittedly)
2 months til LAUNCH of BDAY (Neesa)
For the first time. once again. back is the incredible. white animal. orange light on all
ITS THINKING you need to know about Ronda Roughousey and Hope Scolo in 1999-2000.
@Neesa Birthday on Dreamcast Birthday, “WHOZE NOZOMAY?!” <( SEGA!! )>
Nozomi is best waifu, that’s who she is.
Im so happy this thread got bumped
Huge Sega fan back in the day. I had a Genesis, Sega CD, CDX, Saturn, and the Dreamcast.
I enjoyed the Dreamcast but, the Sega Saturn is my all-time favorite system ever. Sadly, it was Sega’s colossal mistakes during the Saturn-era which would later bring down the dreamcast and the company. I love Sega but i won’t be in denial about their mistakes. Sega was its own worst enemy.
Anyway, games i loved on the Dreamcast were:
All the lightgun shooters
MvC2
CAPvsSNK
Soul Calibur
Cannon Spike
Charge N’Blast
Crazy taxi
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Sonic Adventure 2 (I thought SA1 kinda sucked)
Zombie Revenge (loved this one!)
Sega Rally 2
Typing of the Dead (the only reason to buy the keyboard)
Overall, i was much more in love with the Saturn but, the DC was still a cool system. Although it always bothered me why they didn’t have dual-analog. That would have helped a lot in their FPS games.
PSOne Capcom Vs SNK Pro was pretty decent actually. It looked and played very well for a PSOne port. Load times kinda sucked but otherwise Capcom deserved props for that one.
Then again, most late era PSX 2D ports turned out well. Companies learned how to make the most of its limited ram. Even its port of MvC1 was impressive considering the hardware. It lacked true-tag but, otherwise looked and played nicely.

yo what was the name of that disc you had to use to get burned games to work, for the first year or so of Dreamcast?
Utopia boot disc.
Kind of not necessary now
