Happ vs iL Buttons

i’ve read that Happ has the iL button molds, so unless they use a really crappy spring, all should be the same…

I got a custom made controller, it came with an IL Stick and Happ/Suzo Buttons with the superior Cherry Microswitches . I assumed the buttons were not that different since I hadn’t heard any complaints but just for fun I ordered some translucent ones made by IL.

The difference is quality between the Happ and the IL is night and day, the IL’s seem to be made of much heavier higher grade material, the biggest difference however is that there seems with the Happs/Suzo there is way too much of a gap in between the buttons which means if you hit the button on the side it doesn’t quite work right, they overall feel way to loose in comparision. I will only buy IL from this point on.

Happ Vs IL? Actually they both suck.

Sanwa OBSF-30 FTW!

It’s silly to say something sucks. Example:

OBSF-30 sucks. PS-14G FTW!

iL buttons with Cherry switches are nice. Get the convex if you have the option. IMHO concave are only good for nostalgia. If you need a 28mm alternative then Crown buttons also might do the job.

You know what’s funny? I have an iL/Happ box now. The joystick came with Cherry switches, the buttons E-switches. I’ve had 2 of the Cherry switches die on me within months. E-switches still going strong. I’m not even going to sit here and say CHerry switches are crap, or that I can really feel the difference between the two. They work and give me the same feel as the stuff I used to play on in the arcade. AND I’m using the concave buttons (nostalgia my ass…)

For the record, I’ve got another stick with PS-14s and an upcoming project with OBS-30As, just because I like the feel of a microswitch on my buttons. Maybe that’s nostalgic, but whatever. If you loke iL, or Happ, good for you.
