Happ Stick (Ultmate vs. Comp)

Is it possible to put in a Competition handle in a Happ Super?

I too like the supers, I feel they have a shorter bat length then the comps, and also offer a more fluid circular motion then the comp. Although the supers might not last as long as the comps, if most people tried the supers, they probably would perfer it over the comps…no doubt.

i think the shaft is 2 short to fit but you should get somebody who has a super and a comp to check it out…(lets ask chad)

Thanks for the info. I was not going to bid on them anyway as I use Sanwa/Seimitsu stuff now. I also feel the need to try out a Happ Super (I have not used one since the arcades died).

Personally, I like the Super. The clone I have now in my SFAC has worked quite well, and I’d imagine the real thing would be even better.

I’d also like to add that after having had some experience with the Competition stick outside a product that blows (see the X-Arcade), I can say it too works well.

However, I prefer the firmer spring in the Super clone, and so I think my ideal one would be a Competition base, with the Super’s handle and its spring. I’d give up the actual stick on the Super before its spring, though, should that not be doable.

From what I’ve seen, it LOOKS like you should be abe to do what you described.

And on what the other posters’ve said, the Ultimate looks like anything but.

Everything HAPP sucks, just get an IL Eurostick

uhh IL stands for INDUSTIES LORENZO… happ doesnt make anything. they just stick their name on all of INDUSTRIES LORENZO products.

newbs

It is but not without modifying the shaft. Check out:

Damn. Thanks for the info. I guess I’ll order from them if I want a Super.

Nope, that was the case with the older Competition sticks, right now HAPP is manufacturing their own competitions and those are pure junk (the ones with the bigger/black actuator)

The P360 was originally made by Wlco and HAPP fucked thoese ones up as well when Wico went out of business using cheaper materials (specially the internal bearing)

How would Omron microswitches (the ones with the levers that Kowal put in the Eurojoystick/Competition) work in the Happ Super?

Happ Competition! Its great.

Don’t bother or think about the others, as far as american-made sticks go, the competition is the best available.

While we’re on the subject of parts, Convex competition buttons are also a must-have.

This. I’ve been wondering what the heck was wrong with my game but this and this other thread have shed new light on my dilemma.
