Where have these invites been going out? Besides that one day I heard about from Drekken that I couldn’t make it to, I’ve never heard of anyone else putting up casuals in Hamilton anywhere. This is a serious question, btw, I’d like to know what channels you’ve been using that nobody’s been hearing you on.
Chris; next time you’re visiting with Hidden Hamilton let me know so I can go with you. I’d like to meet these folks.
I would attend this. I would love it if these guys would pay Niagara a visit, too. Zako and I would drive every week to Hamilton when Pownz / Tap House were open, so the drive’s no big deal.
We mostly contact Drekken their was some miscommunication between people. I do apologize for the mix up in getting invites, we have been trying to be more organized and invite people in advance, but lately due to Drekkens busy schedule and our accomadation/venue we have been doing everything last minute.
The place we play at is Joosee’s rooming house, before it was a big empty house but recently he had roommates move in thus cutting out space, and we weren’t sure if we could even run the casuals at Joosee’s house anymore, however his roommates have all been very cool its just that now with less open room we have been limited to the common area/ joosees bedroom, and more and more local/new players from hamilton have been showing up and were basically crammed wall to wall. We have also been supporting the brawl community and we have players like Illiad and fiddlesticks coming out and supporting us.
We wanted to organize a bigger event in a bigger venue so we could formely invite St Kitts crew and YRSF and team STC and TTT. But Drekken is a busy man, hes running many events for many people so we have had difficulty solidifying something perfect yet.
Theirs is alot of talk or renting a studio or a bar, but Hamilton is kinda ghetto and all the pub/bar venue owners around here like to think its sunset strip in cali and charge rediculous ammounts to rent something.
I would also like to come to st kitts area but like I said I live in Hamilton and the ghetto ness also reflects my wallet.

Seriously though, I don’t know why you’re blaming Drekken as the bottleneck… there’s a SRK Thread, Facebook Group, IRC Chatroom full of Hamilton/ST. Kitt regulars, all of which can be found with about three minutes of reading…
Ah dood, it’s common knowledge AE is a trash game that promotes mashing, everyone who knows me knows I hate MVC3 equally as much as i hate AE, maybe more. Also, after said complaint about laggy TV I did not walk out, I stuck around for atleast another 2 hours playing Marvel with WB! and Drekken.
As for never going back I’ve never been invited to go back nor have I been made aware of any further gatherings, nor have I seen any of the invitations on SRK if there have been any. If the intention was to call me out, why was I not called out before your post this week? Also, I know and talk to most of the Hamilton regulars on a daily basis, and even they are unaware of this “invitations” that have been sent out. As for knowing you, last night was the first time I’ve ever heard your name, I can’t even put your face to it 100 percent. If you were someone who is “part of the community” and not just a group that will randomly show up and play because you just happened to be there, I would know you by name.
As for the Hamilton scene, I have always welcomed new people into my house for casuals when I hold them, and offered rides to people looking for them regardless of status. I also offer help to those who ask me for it and I also go out of my way to help people, most of the people on this forum can attest to that, and your Geif playing friend as I recall showing him the Geif SPD shortcut at Mohawk LAN. As for you and your friends, you don’t know me, and I don’t know you. Outside of playing casuals that one night, I have never known you any closer than being a passer by. I have always been neutral or kind to your group in the presence of others, and and outside the short time since your attempt to smear my name I have never talked about you guys in a negative light as people. Your game may not be that great, but I would never spend the time of my day to personally try to smear your groups name.
The bottom line is that the posts you are making are all fraudulent and based on some misguided or non-existant “beef”. I have never held a grudge against your group up until you decided to “call me out” as extravagantly as you have tried. I have also never offered to back out of my challenge, however I took into consideration that you are all students and may not share the same financial freedom I enjoy and kindly asked Drekken to pass the message that we don’t have to go through with this match on a financial basis as to where you may stand to lose money you could be putting into better use.
If i didnt’ think this kind of “call out” was negative to the community or in some way would make it unviable for you guys to interact with the rest of the Hamilton players, I wouldnt’ even bat an eye and take the time to post a reply. There’s no harm in trying to grow the community and in no way have I ever turned down anyone trying to make things happen nor refuse to offer a helping hand. If you really have an interest in building this community, you’ll drop this front that you’ve put up and highly reconsider how you’ve been approaching this entire situation that you’ve decided to create.

no it not like that, we dont have the equipment to run a big casual we only have like 3 tvs, an HDTV that is actually laggy by 6.5 milli seconds and a old tube tv that we use only for brawl and the monitor is used for 3s primarily. Drekken is the man with the equipment and lately hes been running brawl tournaments and blackop tourneys, so that kept us from hosting a big event. We didn’t really make a formal event or announcement because we are generally unsure of availability, and lately the casuals have just been somebody phoning somebody and next thing you know theirs 15 people that were free/bored that day. Drekken isn’t responsible for the failure in a successful casual it was us for not being able to solidify a secure venue/ time and date. But now that their is more interest in Hamilton we can look at hosting something bigger. We have been trying to make sure things were secure such as a venue/equipment and availabilty before we sent out a big invite because we were unsure how many people would show up its mostly been word of mouth. We are looking into booking a bar/club for this salty throwdown so well be able to comfortably accomodate everyone and their gaming needs. So far we are considering Sept Wed 21st around 7pm possibly London tap house, or ThreeTheives Shisha bar.
I was there for that casual, I do recall a bit of salt about a dan/gief match up from mike, I believe kelly gave vince crap for it, but I still didn’t know so much hate has come from all this. lol
I want to stay out of this but I will say it is entertaining to watch, I’ll bet on Mike in the match up. Cause his gief is alot better than he gives himself credit for, he needs more Tournament experience and he would be very solid.
All in all good job on Team Lucid for issuing a challenge and stepping up, good to see people getting hungry to fight in the Hamilton community.
Hmm either way it boils down to the he said she said. What was done or said in the past is just that, passed. Some of us have heard what you have said at other casuals primarily the tap house, Im not going to bring that up here because its immaterial. Im not going to bother trying to slander your name or discredit your role or commitment to this community. How I saw it personally when you were their was you were being a bit rude, and now we want to chance to prove we are not just button mashing scrubs. So lets cut all this bullshit and get to buisness, you said youll take anyone and we meant your challenge Sept 21st venue TBA. No more salty he said she said bullshit just pure MM. thanks drekken btw Vince the majority of us personally like you you do damn good streams for TTT we deieinetely need that. I hate to say it but these are just games I have no real life beef with you its all in game for me. Most of us are just excited to get the opporunity to match against you, myself included but I do want your self proclaimed top cody in hamilton, I wanted that before i even meant you. You guys really need to stop running at London Tap House. I know people are looking for a venue and all but that staff couldn’t have made it any more clear they thought the game players were beneath serving. The day Chris had to go get my beer order for me made it abundantly clear they don’t care about business, they care about club business. You’re all better off taking a year to watch that shitty venue go under and then rent out the empty real estate.

I recall the night clearly , he did get bodied by a dan, I went hysterical… I remember now lol. As for the scrub comments I don’t recall them, but I do remember the lag mention. But if you don’t know RXS thats just how he is, and if I recall after he left I told you guys not take anything he says personally lol. Everything vince says is true he is a great instigator of local community, awesome mentor to newer players, so the call out may of been a bit over the top and dramatic lol BUT on the plus it got this thread bumping again so koodos.
didn’t expect that night it to spawn to this but whatever I got to play marvel so I was happy, as for the Tap house, avoid it like the plague you will only have your heart broken cause its a good venue but bad management. The manager turnover is worse than employees at Mcdonalds. Love the space but break down of communication can be pretty harsh.
I did suggest that we just merge our casuals with the St.Kitts crew seeing as we were holding them on the same day… didn’t make sense to divide and aslong as people were going to chip in for gas I’ll do the driving. Anything to not carry 4 setups back and forth lol plus the St.Kitts crew is awesome
We can provide plenty of stations. Between us there are at least 4 stations every week at Sheehan’s and the management there loves us. If vince isn’t on his own driving once in a while i’m sure there’s plenty of car space for everyone to come down, it’s really not a bad drive.
Zach; how often do you run casuals? I wouldn’t mind coming down with Vince or Chris sometime in future to say hi.

It’s nice to go back to the normal tone. There’s no need for obnoxious posts to try to build interest. There are plenty of people who are looking for places to play, you just have to post up and ask. As for equipment I have 4 lagless monitors, and 2 360’s. If people are ever looking for a place to play in the east end you just have to ask.
That said, i’m currently available on Thursday/Friday/Saturday to play. I just want to play Marvel all day, but I’ll settle for AE too.
Nagata, we run casuals at Sheehan’s Pub downtown every Tuesday night. I won’t be there next week but it basically depends on my works whether I can go or not. PM/FB/XBL/IRC/Email me if you need an address or whatever.
