I need someone to teach me marvel. I love that game I just can’t compete against all the good players. I don’t even really have a solid team. I really like using Gambit, but I realize he sucks and i might not be able to get good with him and am willing to learn other teams. So far my favourite team is storm/gambit/cyke. I also like Spiral/cable/sent. Curt please learn me some marvel. Your the only one in Hamilton that can teach me the tricks. I’m availble most weeknights up untill 2ish in the morning.
I told you a billion times now. Learn Team Duc Do first because it’s a good team. Don’t go learning random new characters if you can’t use one team well. Get videos, learn how to do the Spiral trap and tighten your execution on AHVB’s and HSF combos.
No… despite how much you like spiral, DO NOT use her first. The way to learn the game is through playing team scrub (cable/sent/capcom), and branch off from there. I repeat, DO NOT use spiral, since you seriously can’t win with it until you’re more advanced.
yea… I spent years trying to learn MSP first and i tried really hard at one point to get really good. I can’t deal with cable or sent or capcom now because I didnt learn how to play them. Not knowing how to use those characters well is a huge disadvantage. I mean I can do combos with them, but I dont know how to use them half as well as everyone else in a real match. Learning the basics like them is key to learning how to beat them as well. You dont need to learn how to do flashy combos from magneto or storm to be good. If you think that, you will simply end up playing how I do. I suck at the game, but I can randomly win if I get a hold of you. I’m sure if i played team scrub for a while I would be a much better player over all.

Agree with Gerjay. If you wanna be good you have to learn either Sent or Storm really well. I learned Storm, but most people learned Sent. YOu have to base your starting teams off either one of those two. And yes, Spiral/Cable/SEnt is way too hard to learn off of. You’ll just end up giving up.

Hey chris, i’ve never seen u use those teams u say u struggle against, have you tried playing with them at all lately?
And if you get decent with cable/sent/capcom, I think yoru team progression should be like… cable/sent/capcom -> storm/sent/capcom or storm/cable/capcom -> magneto/cable/sent or MSP or some other crazy magneto team -> Team of choice. I personally think its the most efficient way to learn the game. I think justin would be a LOT better if he started with scrub and then converted to storm/cable/capcom, but whatever.

lol I hardly ever use those teams. If I can beat someone with those teams its pretty bad because I’m terrible with them. I’ve used them lately every now and then just because, but I would never go into a tourny with them because I don’t know my shit well enough.
By the way Jerris, you gotta play me in xmen vs sf sometime soon. That last time I played “you” it was joker lol. I was blown away because I thought u got insane in 3 days or something. Anyways, msg me on msn sometimes I’m always up for a game.

I agree with what the Sauga guys have said here. Learn the basics first than go advanced. I still play Cable/Sent/CapCom because it is a team I’m comfortable with. However, when I played the Sauga guys at the LAN I saw a lot of flaws.
Simply put, the Sauga guys are more experienced and know shit from experience. It’s one thing to watch movies and say shit I wanna do that, but it’s another thing to actually apply it.
It would have been nice to have any kind of notice there’s a LAN tomorrow. Can’t make it…

I am at about 80/20 in favour of going to ECC now. If there’s any casuals involving 3S/CvS2/ST-AE, smack me in the head and let me know.
At this point I don’t think focusing on Marvel is really a good idea since its by far my worst game and I don’t think I’ll get anywhere up to snuff to even win a game at ECC let alone have any hopes of qualifying.
There is a LAN party… but who said there is gonna be an SF tourney… thats right nobody.

P.S. I don’t want to go into the details of why i’m not running it… but if you want to know the short story… it’s too much work for just one person, but thanks to the guys that always are out there to help me run brackets when i ask for a hand (Jaime, Rey). Oh and also a huge Thanks to Darko for letting me mooch rides home, and especially to Nam for giving me a ride home when everyone else couldn’t.
