I tweeted to Marn like 30 times last night (srs like 4)
"look into Dudley’s 3s buffering with MP and s.HK into MP/EX MGB and Duck
no response
probably blocked by now
told him to look at EX Duck upper anti air and short swing blow in tut
no response
watch stream yesterday hoping he listened
jump HK, s.HP, focus attack
flashmetroid actually gets hit because he beleives Dudley plays like this

Jest letting you guys know.

Yeah, I’ve been trying to implement this in my game more. Went to a friend’s house and he played several characters. Had trouble with Chun though. He would whiff punish my stand roundhouse with stand fierce. He mentioned that I should wait for him to whiff to do it, but I noticed you kind of just hang it out there in poke range so when they hit a button they just eat it. I managed to do it a few time over the night, but mostly got popped out of it. Took me too long to realize I should have just challenged his space if he wasn’t going to poke me cause I kept fishing for it. Does this work for standing strong?

They way I saw it for Dudley is stand fierce is for catching whiffed pokes that you react to (tut) and standing roundhouse buffer is to catch the start-up of their pokes. Am I wrong?

s.HP imo is USED either preemptivley for creating spacing between the opponent and Dudley, or as an effective whiff punish.
120ish damage(?) 200 Stun,
Mad knockback on hit so you cant follow up with anything. (lol at when Dudley players follow up with jump in HK)
Doesn’t do single thing in footsies but do damage.

But ya s.HK you use at a range you and your opponent cant get hit at. It’ll catch any thing thrown out on counter hit, or during active frames (recovery too for moves like Ken’s f.MK if you’re gatliek like me).
s.MP and c.MP work the same way but at a closer range since they only cancel into LK duck upper and MP MGB.
I’d say wait for tut(going to show every single poke a character uses that can be buffered against like LK ssb at end of buffering vid), but as you saw with Marn the past weekend people really need to step their game up.
You can watch how s.MP and c.MP can be used from watching these vids (i posted before but got ignored i think)

@5:20
(Note s.MP c.MP xx MK Duck xx super works but of course s.MP xx MK duck upper doesnt. MK duck offers more range than lk duck xx super as shown in fireball tut)

this is exactly how I play SSF4 Dudley

Ok, I understand a bit more now. I actually would get people to walk into or do something to get caught up cr. strong xx strong MGB every once in a while so I guess the logic is similar. My friend mentioned it was my spacing that was messing me up the most so your point their hit home, was doing stand roundhouse too close to Chun who has really good whiff punishing normals. I noticed in your PJS stream vids that you mostly tagged her standing round house at range. Seems to me the trick is to make them scared and try to poke you out when you walk to a certain area and then let the roundhouse OS rip. Actually your tut has made me realize I was never doing anything to try to condition the opponent and I was trying not to get hit by everything that I ended up doing nothing. Now I can make them scared of throws and hit them with like crouch strong instead for the CH. Things like that.

Thanks for the reply man.

son I am proud
3rd person to realize Dudley’s capable of putting fear in his opponent by using s.HK xx OS.
(ya i count. It’s not hard when there’s only 2 to remember)
If you can do that. you’ll either have to deal with
Rushdown (you cant buffer from close range obv)
low pokes (just what you want sometimes, get that c.HK or c.MK going for an easy knockdown all while punishing their high/mid pokes with 180+ damage buffered normals)
or turtling (opponent stops poking and sits there. if they have the lead FFFFFFFFFFFUARK, if they dont enjoy the frustration of your opponent.)

There are currently no offline Dudley players that know about these options. you already figured out what you should look for and how to buffer with Dud. Now you just have to figure out all pokes to look for for each character and the sweetspot you should want to stand in to counterpoke
(it’s all character specific but it’s not hard really (it’s usually a character’s jump in range))

Ken for example outside of his c.MK range you can get hit by, f.MK and probably sweep and far s.HK
You can look to counter poke f.MK, s.HK, sweep,f.HK feint, while using low pokes vs his c.MK and far s.MP.
That’s the sweetspot vs Ken. Move forward anymore and you’re in focus range, (also his c.MK range).

Not hard brah you’re almost there (lol at me about to recieve an infraction because I’m about to say "lol at MrX and friends not figuring this out and them playing since ssf4 release)
Good Job Brah

99% of your tutorial was info posted here derp

2011
counting my own posts as “here”

but nah every video I make is based of my own experience.
The only info you can count as being posted “here” are simple things like damage and stun on moves.

If 99% my what was in my videos was posted “here” by anyone but me I’d be seeing:
[]people combo into Ultra 2 mid screen. People still dont do ex mgb > walk up u2
[
]people using other pokes besides s.HP
[]people hit confirming into HP/MP Jet Upper (lol it’s like Seth pre poongk everybody combos into legs/MGB)
[
]people using an anti air that’s not s.MK
[]people using short swing blow
[
]people using air to airs and neutral jumping more
[]people starting punish combos with links that dont include target combos or/and jabs
[
]people using duck in unsafe blockstrings ending in fireballs
99% of what you post here comes out your ass Mr.X
You can report me again if you want, but know where 99% of Dudley’s future will come from.

Sorry if it deviates from your post 34, but speaking of neutral jumping, whats the best Air to ground normal to go for? NJ.MK?

ya.
[]Hits low to ground
[
]fast start up and good active frames
[]less pushback than nj.HK so max range combos possible
[
]most range out of all nj attacks
Derp

not even going to bother with you
since “everyone” obviously doesnt include you
you dont even know how to use 1% of the things you just posted

stopped reading when you linked to the combo thread that i posted in and tested most u2 combos

lol you think your posts here matter oh god my sides.

Thanks for gathering info from the Dudley board and putting it into videos on youtube

You can say the same thing for all SF tutorials, X. Since all the tutorials are “gathered information from the boards” I don’t see the issue. Also, most of the stuff in the “tut” aren’t even in those threads and just simple things that nobody ever use, EVER.

Release a tut on how you always get caught by neutral jumps, 34.

Kappa

didn’t see Liquid or Marn use it

“Nobody ever used”

Stop being dense, you know I’m calling him out on claiming this was all his “experience” and not info from this board.

this guy
logical fallacies everywhere
im not even going to bother linking him wikipedia articles anymore

I don’t think you know what “anymore” means.

Lol @ the Goof Troop coming in to defend Thirtyfour

Just play dudley like 3s. c.lk c.lk Super is where its at.

I was just saying, all infos for all tuts usually comes from all boards. I’m not defending 34, I’m just stating the facts of how tutorials are made, and on the post about you calling out, you call people out randomly all the time which is nothing new on your side. I don’t defend anybody unless I know they’re right, I don’t complain about “his experience” because I don’t know that, I don’t even look at all the threads on this board or add inputs because the OPs don’t come on and update. All the info on this board is straight garbage if you ask me and are still day one shit.

Errbody still mad these days, shit needs to stop already. It’s the reason people look at the boards like it’s shit, because it’s true.

QFT. Yay someone smart lives on in stupid retarded kids
