Yeah…but it’s still not very fast. Sprint, Bop, Headshot is faster and works better in most cases.
Maybe against newbs, but this will get harder and harder once you starting ranking up and playing people who know what they are doing. Actually the quickest way to kill is melee then headshot combo. Melee will remove the shield the head shot is an instant kill. It’s quicker to fire your weapon after a melee rather than going for a second strike.
I’m finding the vote system a little tedious. I kind of wish they took out the game modes and just used it for map votes. Put the game modes in their own playlists. I just want to play some normal Team Slayer but I always end up in a game of Snipers or Team SWAT. Don’t get me wrong I like both modes but that is not what I am selecting. As soon as people see snipers there is like 5 or 6 instant votes for that despite what map it is on.
Are there any secret armours in this one? Other than the Haunted helmet?
They still have this? LOL epic fail for real. In 2010 one of the most well known and hyped games ever doesn’t let you pick what gametype you want to play? This is not about liking halo or not it’s straight up horrible game design and a huge annoyance to be at the mercy of your fellow players. After paying for an item you should be able to do what you want with it ow is this not common knowledge to Bungie? I’m sure they kept it in so the less popular game types would get attention but that’s no excuse for not letting anyone play exactly what they want. In transformers if you want to play deathmatch guess what? You select death match and play against other people who also selected death match brilliant!
Next to halo’s signature sluggish controls and bad level design the whole “you can’t play the game type you want to play unless everyone else does too” system has kept me from loving the series the way I love other shooters. I don’t even mind the fact that there isn’t much depth or room for strategy, when I come hoem from school and work more then likely I’m going to want to shoot people rather then collect a skull or control a hill.
Did up to mission 3 last night in legendary. I think the AI has definitely improved, but the problem with the elites is that they aren’t improved; they just move a fuck ton faster and dodge in ways you couldn’t hope to track. So if I get beat down by one, it doesn’t feel like I’m actually losing to something that actually beat me. I’m just losing because the game moves them in a way I can’t hope to keep up with.
That and the fact that bullets are useless on them.
No actually this is the norm. When a game is first released you do not separate 50 different gametypes like that, what would happen if there were only 100 people online, it would be near impossible to find a game. Bungie will do as they did with Halo 3, once they have the figures they’ll know what game types to separate. Example in Halo 3 there used to be team snipers in Slayer however this was unpopular so they moved it to ranked along with SWAT.
Not having the option to play exactly what game type I want and having to be at the mercy of other players for an item I paid for is bullshit I don’t care if some game types fall by the wayside survival of the fittest nigga and freedom is more important.
It’s not survival of the fitest, it’s about timing. You can’t splinter an online community like that so early, and quite frankly all those playlist will be overwelming for newcomers. If Bungie follow their Halo 3 formula we should see variations to the playlists in a month maybe sooner.

Yeh, I could probably find my standard headset but that would be pretty akward to wear which headphones. what happens when you get 200k?
Their matchmaking system is stupid. And no, I shouldn’t have to hunt around for friends to play custom games. Thank god bungie is handing this off to someone else.

Matchmaking is bad because of what others have said: you can’t pick what you want to play or you’re at the mercy of the group’s decision. Playing the same awful mode and map over and over is not what I consider fun.
I know maybe one person in real life that plays games and I don’t really “friend” people I don’t know online.
What a silly comment. Are you telling me that when a developer must wait to make a decision on playlists and filter options we should just use custom games and HOPE that we have enough people on our friends list willing to play a custom game? Fuck that. I want to play competitively and against other teams. Not against friends. I hope TFR is right in his thinking.
Thanks for the information Furious One. I wasn’t on Xbox Live when Halo 3 was first released so I wasn’t aware Bungie modified the playlists as such after a while. I wasn’t trying to be a negative nancy, I’m just a little frustrated after playing A LOT of Team Snipers. The matchmaking other than what I have said has been solid. It gives a lot of choices, I love the “none of the above” option and in terms of putting me against people with good connections I don’t think I’ve had any trouble at all in concerns with lag.
Yeah, I really want to play some Infection, but I hate that I can’t do that in regular matchmaking.
I hate team snipers. I can’t wait till they seperate that shit.
Like whoever it was said, the playlists will change, and lucky for you, the MLG playlist will be appearing in a few weeks or so, once the community sorts all the version one settings out. I’m very excited to see what gets brought to the table.
Wait until they start doing a Double EXP weekend or something of that sort (double cR weekend?) infection will surely be on there. It’s just that from what it seems, Ninja on Fire (the guy doing the playlists) wanted to keep the playlists somewhat competitive.

Just wait for things to be sorted because they’ll listen to the community and give them what they want.
Atleast we don’t have stupid glitches like the care package and javelin glitch. Nothing crazy like that would ever happen just the occasional getting outside of the map which can be as equally annoying.
