I so rarely see Mugen in match videos. I wonder why. I guess maybe itâs due to the difficulty in fbuilding 8 stars. And how exactly does negative penalty effect him if at all? I would think it doesnât kick in on him at all, since he needs to kind of wait there and build stars. I wonder if there a way for him to play keep away while building stars. I doubt it due to his big hitbox.
Mugen is risky. It forces you to either take the offensive when the situation might not call for it, or let your stars drain away. Holding your stars for the counter-super threat, among other things, is more useful.
dunno. once I get a hold of some training mode, I can atleast see if thereâs he has a funny guard-crush string.

just picked the game up today, was playing as someone else and fought Haku-Men, and was like thats my manâŚswitched out and started playing him he is sweet actionâŚpretty good damage and awesome looking comboâs. looking forward to learning to play him well
Finally picked up. Getting worked by Jin players who know what theyâre doing. I still love this guy though. I only need two combos to take the bastard out.
I got the game yesterday, first time blazblue player. i played for about 2-3 hours, and i really liked playing with him. He is not as fast, but he can hit with a distance with his sword, and its very powerful. the best way i found to play him is too rush down the other player. i dont counter with his drive attack yet, since i have problems timing my opponentâs attacks. i like using him and might possibly be my main. Heâs on the top 2. im trying to play through arcarde to get a good feel with every body before i decide.
edit: i myself need a blazblue avatar, a very good one.
Anyone know any good follow ups to his 5D? I usually just 6C cause my reaction time isnât fast enough to think of a combo on the fly.

I definitely love this guy. Seems like a great secondary to Ragna IMO.
Play the game for the first time. Anyway not much to say. I went over my friendâs house and he was just mad dogging me. I was getting use to the moves, speed, and controls, and he wouldnât at least let me see what I could pull off. Anyway, after a few matches I started to figure it out a little though.
dp+a is nice for two stars. The guy played a Mad dog Jin, lol, you Tekken players would get it. Anyway I noticed that Hakuâs jab stops that little ride the ice thingy that Jin has. I know I played pretty scrubby. But I must say that Hakuâs HCf+C is beastly beyond words. Man Haku is like totally a natural for me. I tried VR-13, Rachel, and Arakune, and 'Haku is definitely the best for me hands down.

Now my friends are telling me that Haku is overpowered and should be banned. LOL, guess Iâm doing something right. Iâll be going to my first BlazBlue tournament on the 11th. Hopefully I can figure out how to use him better between now and then.

off a ground hit, or a low air hit, just jump forward and try to hit with j.C as late as possible.
off air hits, I just go straight for the j.2Câs. I think you might be able to do a super jump late j.C, but not too sure. Wasnât willing to lay down the quarters to test it out.
For jin, is ice car punishable with a counter?
Or does it have projectile properties and I can use the sword to âabsorbâ it?
Iâm not sure about the sword but countering eats it for sure.
Jinâs ice car can be punished with a jab on block pretty sure, I donât know why counter wouldnât work but you can just test it yourself in training mode.
I tried to learn some combos with Hakumen and just a tip: his forward-C sword slash is chargeable. It appears to come in two versions, one where you just tap the button and do ~1100 damage and one where you hold it for a fraction of a second more and get ~1300 damage. The reason I mention is because he has a combo which I really like but had a hell of a time learning:
:qcb::snkc: (hits low, costs 2 meter, launches horizontally)
cancel into :qcf::snka: (his hilt rush, costs 1 meter, bounces them off the opposite wall)
link into :r::snkc: (slash them with the sword as they fall)
I was using the âhold down the buttonâ method to get the timing for the last hit, but of course that doesnât work because then Haku does the slow slash. So if you want to get it, you have to do something like double or single tap at the right time, no fake-turbo to get the timing right. The ending part is really good though because you can fit it in a lot of things until you copy-paste a better combo into your brain.
Mugen seems like a really bad idea in general.
Anyone found good ways to get rushdown pressure off you? Is there an alternative other than finding a gap and parrying?
