Yeah I watched those vids earlier DIO-K, very nice play! You’ve improved even more. Unlucky against Adon, it can be a tough matchup, usually i try and stock up super then punish one of his specials with it.
And yeah El-Kalams vids were just posted on eventhubs, well done to him, he has an interesting style, but I feel he can be a bit too flashy and goes for a little too many shenanigans, good stuff to see Hakan getting some love though.
Here’s a couple more vids of me:

Nice match, and those are really good use of parrying FADC to grab, wish I can do that as fluidly. I’ve been lately exploring the use of -> MK and neutral Hk for pokes. They are great anti air when an opponent lands right in front of you. but in drew’s match up I saw mk used as anti air just to reset the jump in never seen that before. any tips for when Hk fits in the pressure string or crisco? for me it’s one move that is least used in the entire hakan arsenal.
I’ve been messing around with super, walk, jump over, lk dive, if you’re interested. Not terribly hard to pull off.
You seem to have improved substantially since the last time I saw you play, and you were pretty good before. Kudos.
I’m not sure about what you mean with the mk anti-air, do you mean in the gen fight first round? if so that goes back to my abel days and controlling space, you can use that, st.mp punch aswell, just for keeping them in check from those sort of jump ins, will help out a lot. As for the fadc, I always use the backdash cancel now, because you’ll always get an instant parry, or just backdash out, it’s a lot harder, but worth it i think.
Mk is definitely a poke worth using, i think it’s one of his best ticks into throw when he’s oiled, and also one of the best into ultra 1. HK is something I don’t use too often, but that can also be a great tick into ultra, like after the end of a blockstring it can move you right into range for ultra 1 aswell. The times i used it it has been pretty godlike in close range footsies actually, I need to use it more often.
And to mordie, yeah, super does pretty decent damage already, so another oil dive would be pretty painful! And thanks, i think i’ve done pretty well for a newbie, still got to iron a few things out though. Still to learn OS’s and all that jazz
yesh, the first round gen match, ooh after another look it appeared he has landed. So it wasn’t an anti air. I first thought the active red box is low on his feet but how come that could be used handily as an anti air O.o
Yup i started doing oiled -> MK too I didn’t know it’s alot safer than -> mp cause his whole body doesn’t move fwd and there’s a bit of room to recover in case someone mashes that DP. Dang a tick? wow I gotta practice that
such bad news.
did they, by chance, lessen the time the 360 motion is stored?
Are accidental 360s still a problem after jumps?
very sad about losing my fav SS setups

yes, such a bad new.
Accidental 360 still happen after jumping or comboing.
Keep in mind :
- not to hold the stick’s direction while jumping.
- input the direction command carefully when comboing into Slide.
I think this maybe the best solution about Hakan 360 instead of Slide.
IMO, they shouldn’t remove 360 buffering’s time that cause SS setups more harder.
PS. I REALLY hate 360 Instead of Slide
I’ve never really had much problems with the 360 instead of slide, not sure why though.
Here’s a compilation vid of me my friend made with some of my fights, some are recent some older, apologies if you don’t like the music, he had problems with roadworks when recording lol. This is part 1, more to come!

Yeah, my fav is oily slide/press, (still oily) back dash into 360 forward, mk dive. So effective, but I’m pretty sure you can’t pull it off in AE. You could probably hold hk and still get it, but that’s significantly slower. They just back dash on reaction, and you cancel. You simply lose wake-up advantage. I suppose you can do the forward mp feint to lure them into back dash. Then you punish. At least against slower backdashes, e.g. Sagat’s.
indeed.
just for clarity:
I wasnt suggesting that; I was just asking because I thought that might have been the very mechanism by which they removed the SS setups (360 buffered into walk)
and yeah, bringing stick to neutral helps alot, but it still happens to me. It is still a definite problem of mine. The shortcuts really mess up so much bout this char for me with my sh*tty execution. I also hate getting Cr, MK->oilup, instead of slide combo when i expect to cross and dont (or viceversa), or Cr. MK X2 (crisco),-> oilup, instead of slide combo…

oil stacking is a beautiful thing.
This particular guy’s wake-up game against 'gief is lacking. You can slide/press, c.mp, early j.hk to stuff lariats and causing ex banish to whiff.
Lol, this guy need to come on srk more! To be fair i’m not even sure Hakan is his main character, I think it’s still Cody, but he’s the first Master Hakan player in japan and it’s good to see someone showing us some good ae action.
Just a couple of recent battles. I managed to beat an A ranked Gen in the second match. Frankly, I made some lame mistakes, but I still pulled it off.

I have no idea how to deal with Dictator’s st.mk and st.hk when cornered lolz.
With Dictator when I’m cornered I use f+lp. Dictator is a very hard matchup for Hakan.
That Dictator seems to know your play style.
f+lp is definitely good when oiled. but I am not sure about unoiled version. Maybe the range is not far enough to reach to counter mk or hk. What I usually do is f-mp +slide when you feel he is going to do another kick. Kinda guessing…right…
But it is better to try than staying in corner and die there…
Crouching mk can also be really good for going under his standing HK. But sometimes it just doesn’t work in the corner. I don’t think this match is going to change too much in AE unfortunately, bisons one of those characters that can really stop you from oiling up. Hopefullly when you’re cornered c.lp > slide, f.Lk > slide, could prove a lot more helpful.
Oiled or unoiled F-LP and F-LK are very good against Dictator. Usually after a scissors kick you can sneak one in pretty safely. It will be better in AE since he can combo slide after and get out of the corner easier.
Doesnt C.HP beat Dictator’s S.HK?
