Maybe. Maybe not. He doesn’t seem like he’ll be that easy to play either way. No decent player is just gonna let you oil up. And so far I don’t see anything about him that’s godlike at the scrub-level or in online play. For example, scrubs will often whine about Gief’s lariat which is godlike if you’re as dumb as a tree. Doubt he has a 2-frame jab and we know for damn sure he doesn’t have Sagat or Gief-level damage. Add in one ultra looks like either total AA or a counter, and the other is (i believe) a 720. I think he’s gonna take work.
I agree somewhat with the sentiment that SF is no stranger to silly character design. Dunno why people are bringing up Dhalsim when they say that though, he’s dead serious.
In SF4 all you really need to do for that angle is look at Ken and Blanka’s character models.
I don’t really find him funny but I do think his model/physical design is higher quality than the old SF4 originals.
I wonder if his Ultra 2 might not be invincible? I.e. would it lose to moves that hit far downward enough.

Is it my imagination or does he actually have a ground slam follow-up to a knockdown? That’s rather unique.
I’m led to believe it’s not just part of a specific move, as he does it after a slide and after a throw. Perhaps a chained move off of certain ones that knock down?
Edit: Looked at the vids again. Looks like a follow up to hit from the slide.

Hakan looks absolutely amazing, i’m co-maining the shit out of this guy from release along with my current main. I don’t care how good or bad he is, i main characters if I like their style, and I definitely like hakan’s style!
This reminds me of the hate against Rufus when he was introduced.

This case? The hate is even MORE vicious, and it doesn’t help that one of his moves has him doing to his opponents what Ex-lax does for everyone else.

This game went from spectacular to one of the wonders of the world.
It’s definitely not your imagination you can clearly see it during the Juri fight on IGN. Seems like it has the same properties as change of direction.

his Ultra 2 seems very god-like, i hope its really not as bad as the trailer’s show it to be…i mean empty jumping into ultra…jesus…ultra 2 does seem hella Troll Tier tho…cool character design…but im going to very much hate losing to the guy
I understand that Hakan is a joke, but the trailer felt like it was insulting my intelligence by not being remotely funny at all. I hope he turns out good. I am not looking forward to another grappler, unless he happens to not have a bunch of 360 command grabs he will just be a character I never touch. Any clues about his move list?
I think it’s funny how people seem to be getting ‘joke’ character and ‘humor’ character confused.
Just because he has goofy moves, doesn’t mean he’ll be a joke gameplay wise. In order for someone to truly be a joke, they have to be purposefully handicapped and flawed. Hakan looks like he has some good moves.
Klique is back, i for one wouldn’t mind losing to Hakan i would be laughing the entire time. Especially since i’ll be playing with Dudley.

Hopefully someone took some pics at the event, but either way he looks unique in his playstyle and overall design. Who cares about the input motion? As long as he plays differently from other grab-based characters (looks like he does), I’m excited.
