Hakan Improvements for SSF4 AE?

Yeah I was just talking about those three characters, Zangief, Hawk, and Honda. Seth, Makoto, and Abel are all considerably more mobile than Gief, Hawk, Honda, and Drykan, so giving them less range makes a little more sense (although still kinda unfortunate for Makoto). Seth’s spd has less range, sure, but for a very fast character who has virtually every offensive and defensive option in the game, that’s pretty reasonable. But for Drykan it really doesn’t make as much sense.

No wonder Ultra David doesnt use him often!

But that aside…Im a Hakan user 2 and have had a great share of victories but there are somethings I wish that he had to make him viable!

#1 MAKE THAT CHOP an OVERHEAD…not kidding! DO IT CAPCOM! It will make him more deadly! It already has good range and Im sure would scare many foes into doing a move.

#2 Give him a cross up! Just one! It will make more scary to opponents and set up more grabs when oiled

#3 Oil duration lasts 10% longer Animation for oils sped up 5%

#4 MAKE THE OIL DIVE (Not the slide) the 360+K move CANCEL-ABLE!!! Make him slip and recover in place! Give him maybe 1-2 of vunerability to make up for it!

#5 Oil Slip! (New move) Hakan pours oil on the ground making them slip around like Sub-Zero’s Ground Ice Freeze. They walk over it and they slip! The oil dries over time.

If they give him any substantial buffs, I bet they’ll rape his damage to make up for it. :sad:

More damage on U2. Earlier builds actually had good damage on it but maybe that’s asking for too much.

Think U2 does pretty good damage, only 79/80 less than U1 but I wouldn’t complain if it did more :stuck_out_tongue:

your ‘more or less’ quote doesnt really say he’ll be getting anything. You may be right that he is getting a buff, but the quote doesnt indicate anything will happen except hope. Hard to imagine how this conversation of yours went.
Is it a misquote, hopefully?

-Ah…fix the inputs. I’ve got killed a few times trying to oil, instead I DDT. Or I try to DDT…and I oil up.

-Mixed bag here: either slightly safer normals or more cancelable normals. It’s bad enough he doesn’t have enough options for something simple like those.

-Overhead. I can take a non-AA normal, since most of grapplers are AA-less, but he kinda needs it for meaty options and the trouble of getting in on the opponent.

-I’ve said it before somewhere else, but EX DDT has armor. If it takes a damage nerf, that’s fine. By atleast taking a hit, it makes for a good AA grab for people who jump in or jump away. And again, it gives Hakan AA option other than U2.

-Maybe better pokes. He’s already a semi-poke character, and I’m slowly adjusting with his normals on the subject, but like I mention’d before, his normals aren’t really safe, so maybe increase the hitbox. But this goes with the 2nd suggestion to the top.

…And the rest with what David said and about DDT, yeah I agree with. But lets not brake Hakan…then again, Capcom doesn’t have the balls to buff any character to make them that good.

As someone who hasn’t been playing Hakan an awfully long time, I’d really like better range on non-oiled Oil Rocket. I mean that alone would be a huge help. I think we can all agree on that and an improved EX Oil Dive, but I really don’t know if we’ll get a huge overhaul of his normals like some people are calling for.

A lot of people want an overhead, and that would be interesting. I mean most grapplers have a body splash-style crossup, so since Hakana doesn’t he could have an overhead for mixup instead? I’d be in favor, but I’d doubt Hakan would get both that and an easily applied crossup.

Hmm, doesn’t seem that way :looney: Must be Hakan’s frame or something. For instance I’m pretty sure Seth can do c.LKx2 and still be in range for HP SPD, Dry Hakan can only do one c.LK before Oil Rocket and he’ll still miss if it wasn’t done point blank. shrug I dunno…

I’ll settle for the cancel-able oil dive that’s all that we all are hoping for it seems.

Of course they have no courage to buff hakan so much, or else ryu, ken, cody, and other popular character will seem powerless hehehe
and besides it is Ryu that is the star of street fighter not hakan. But it is always joyful to see such well balanced character that people use so much got beaten by what they think as lame character such as hakan.

if they want to buff Hakan, why not just have him start rounds oiled, for say, EX oil amount of time? Once that wears off you’d have to oil him up again, but at least you wouldn’t always have to ease up the pressure after an early knockdown…

I think while Hakan is oiled, he should be able to splash a little bit of it on the ground to make jumping opponents slip. (Sorry, I’m just tired of opponents jumping backward; don’t lie and say you’re not. ha ha)

give that bastard a low oil dive to grab crounching opponents
so to avoid low oil dive they have to jump
ex version would have invulnerability startup frames
change the motion to HCB for example
kick high
punch low

Why not just oil rocket to grab crouching opponents?

here are my wishlist:

c.HK = AIRBORN

EX-Oil = Short startup with TIMEFREZE (Like Angry Scar!!) lasts only 10s Combo abiliys after cancel (f+mp/c+mk) AGAIN (Like Angry Scar!!) and of cours save on block or -1 at woerst

Hakan Smash (F+LP) should “juggle” it is a move with LESS damage and totaly Risky as Antiair the reward should be the Jugglestate

Juggle Ability with DDT (just for style and hitconfirms into Super)

Mk=true Crossup

EX DDT = 1 Armor Frame

All around faster oil up times HK=MK MK=LK and LK = a bit faster
