Got ya buddy! Great job with the training mode man
Remember when I shown the code for old characters?
Here is a quick example what you could do. Took me longer to write this post than write the code.
This is a test to show it’s easy to replace entering a cheat to select the old characters with your own code.
Just a simple jump at 0x14EC0 to my code that is in the network memory.(And yes I should of put the compare before the write)

In network
102D 001C 0200 000F 0C00 0009 6EF2 1940 03B1 4E75
A3 = Opponent’s memory if p1 selected it’ll be p2’s.
A4 = Player memory. If P1 selects it’s his slot and vice versa.
Undamned asked for the differences between US ST 940323 and 940223
Rom 3 differences
0x001CE has 0100 0100 Default settings changes. Free select and 3/Easy instead of Turbo and 4/Medium
0x0B6CA Changed. Switched a beq to a nop.
0x1C190 Changed to 33 to show the different revision(Ascii for the boot up)
0x336E8 Palette changed (Dunno what it's used for)
Rom 4 Exactly the same
Rom 5 Exactly the same
Rom 6 differences
0x1EBD1A for 5 bytes
0x1EBFB6 for 1 byte
0x1EC024 for 45 bytes
Rom 7 differences
0x264BCE for 43 bytes
Rom 8 Exactly the same
Rom 9 the same (only Razoola's phoenix set is different)
I have updated my Training Mode cheat for MAME, two new modes added to the dummies possible actions: Block Ground Attacks and Block Everything.
Here’s a quick video showing it in action:
The latest version of the cheat can be downloaded from my github: ssf2xj.xml
This is only a mame cheat, unfortunately can’t be used to play online.
The one used to play online is the encrypted set with jedpossum patches which are all in m68k asm.
Does anyone know which roms get reprogrammed to Phoenix the board?
Depends on the game. I’m guessing you’re talking about ST then most of them if it’s Avalanche’s Set. If Razoola’s it’s all of them.
I mean the program roms 3-10
Those differences might be so small that they didn’t even contemplated to include it in the dreamcast dip switch:
1993/10/03 ver (beta?)
1994/02/23 ver (the one we know)
1994/05/29 ver (chun and honda’s stored supers fixed)
2000/12/22 ver (dc version)
My guess, 940529 is the consumer version aka the one they based ports of games on if Capcom were going to do it. So PC/PSX/Saturn/3DO one.
931003 one is probably a location test version they found in storage that worked still.
As for 323, it is very minor I haven’t been able to trigger any bit of the unknown parts other than that minor code change and most likely all done by Capcom USA themselves. Biggest clue for it is that only the US date was changed.
You guys seen this updated hack by yumeji. All the boss characters are arcade perfect on all of the stages without any glitches!
Nice to see yumeji is back.
Dictator with a sliding fierce?
Dictator with that heavy startup on psycho and a sliding fierce. I didn’t know about that.
Sagat seems pretty unchanged. Vega is disgusting with those air glitch juggles, lol. And is that Boxer’s st.fierce cancelled into a dash punch? Disgusting.
claw in ww has 2 different fence climbs. One with punch is for the barcelona attack, and the one with kick is for the izuna drop. So if you start the kick one he can only do the izuna drop and not do the barcelona attack. Claw’s standing black is his backflip. Dictator’s slide is standing short or crouching and any kick button. dictator’s knee press is a normal move, standing roundhouse (that’s why it doesn’t do chip damage)
I don’t recall ever seeing WW dictator using a sliding fierce. I believe it is either it’s a bug in the hack, or the CPU never uses it.
I have been messing around with the debugger trying to find where and how the special move movement data is stored so we can play with it. Unfortunately, I’m not a programmer, and it feels like I’m learning Greek here. Any specific ideas or tips? Or has anyone done this before who has or could make a tutorial? Hell, even a guide to how to read the most common and useful commands in the code would be great.
Been busy with Valkyrie Profile hitbox script.
It goes something like this.
Check motion, if done then write special move in memory, read the that byte than the checks to see if it could be done then the out come.
Hallo. I found this video on youtube showing a Naomi arcade version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper. Can anyone here confirm if this is legit or just a prank?
It wouldn’t surprise me. They’ve been trying to do that with CPS2/CPS3 for awhile if I remember right. Marvel 2 fans will explode if this gets a public release.
