Well looks like I will be heading out in the next hour or so.
Looking at some really well known hurricane dudes, it looks like it’ll weaken to a tropical storm by the time it gets to us.
The issue is going to be the amount of water it’s bringing + how saturated the ground is. That’s why the coast of Jersey and parts of New York are being evacuated. It’s a LOT of water incoming and it’s high tide and the ground…there’s going to be major flooding. The subways are estimated at a 20-30% chance of being flooded last I read.
That being said, we should be fine. Hotel might be the best place for us.
…but bring board games / charge your shit before you get there. Power might go out.
I wont be able to make it either, and this was supposed to be my first ever tournament, this is a more serious storm that many people are taking very lightly. there is a state of emergency in effect, the atlantic city express way will be shut down and atlantic,cape may and ocean counties are being evacuated :(. As far as the registration and game that I paid for are we able to get a refund?
MA, CT, RI, NY, NJ, and even the Philly area are apparently in a state of emergency… so yeah.

If you people ever bother to read the necphilly.com website it says no refunds for online registration. sorry you guys couldn’t make it though.
I did read the website, I was just asking because of what laughinghyena said. I thought maybe something was different because of the hurricane and highways were shut down after a certain time. The only way I could of made the tournament was if I had a room at the Hotel which I wasn’t going to do because I lived only 35-40 minutes away. Im a newbie to these tournaments, so its a lesson learned to NOT pre register just in case something of an emergency happens.

I’m not actually affiliated with NEC, so my words don’t mean much, but I would say that eric would stand to take a much bigger hit from refunding money due to the weather, than any one player would, so players need to chill.
I’d rather eric not lose out on $1000 or so, that he is trying to recoup from booking out 4 ballrooms in a hotel. If it means individuals lose out on $20 or so, so be it.
That’s my personal take on it. Weather came up… people couldn’t make it… it sucks.

I had fun. Lot’s of stuff going on. I wanted to enter teams in anything but I will save that for next time. I didn’t do so well especially since my first match in MVC was Ryry…Hey i got a reset off him and I can say I’m proud of that…some people said OHHH…lol then my second loser match was Demon Hyo…better luck next time
