There’s nothing wrong with her presenting herself as a pro gamer. It’s a fact. She has sponsors and gets paid to go to tournaments. It doesn’t matter that fighting games aren’t her genre. The term “pro gamer” is very broad.
There’s one thing you should know though Ciji. Most of the people on these forums do know and understand basic knowledge of the game, but the ratio/actual percentage of really good, top level players is not that high. This community isn’t exactly welcoming to most new members either.
It sounds like you’re looking for advice from players that are top notch, so I can tell you right off the bat that you probably won’t get it from this thread. You’re better off looking at the character sub groups under the street fighter 4 discussion group.
Experience is really the best teacher when it comes to fighting games. You want to play with people who have a solid understanding of the game and people that can train you for different match ups.
2d fighters in general are very match up intensive, much more so than 3d fighters. There is a very set way to play certain match ups in most street fighter games. For example, say you are using chun li against ryu, the strategies involved in that match up may be totally different against another character.
I think that being new to the genre, this is really the first approach you should take. Learning how to deal with different match ups and then fine tuning that.

Also: This argument that Syxx573 is not a pro… Have you seen his tourney resume’? Have you actually played him in HDR (online or in person)? Sure he can post like he has no clue sometimes, but I would say that if all the tourneys he placed top 3 in (or 1st) hasn’t made him a pro… then he’s well on his way getting there.

Naw naw, I do get what you were saying and I kind of agree. 
In Syxx’ defense, he’s always nice and never disrespectful to anyone he plays, and I would say he was genuinely fishing for good competition more than outright bragging… but most importantly, he was doing it on GameFAQs instead of here! Hahah. People can have the crummiest attitudes in the world off of SRK if they want, but it’s certainly worth something when they know what kind of shit won’t fly here.
