ya like xbox? LMAO (simpsons reference)
Also note that this will take time, and lots of practice playing people. It takes some people years to get better at fighting games, and it takes some people a matter of months. But don’t expect to turn pro, or competing level over night. My 2 cents.
Random non fighting game player making a thread actually asking for help in Street Fighter is a lot better than random non fighting game player making a thread that fireball is cheap and should be banned and that SF is broken.
Lurk, search, etc.
There’s no newbie/introductory section at SRK so these kinds of threads are expected.
Here we go…
Now that she’s said that she is a girl the shit begins. Now everyone’s going to get extra friendly to get in her pants, if that’s even possible.
BTW, Starslayer, did you really need to make a whole intro here in FGD pronouncing your former greatness? You could be a tad bit more humble and just roll in here quietly and take notes. Just saying.
This is true, and it says in the forum FAQ that intro threads are ok, but FGD is not the place for it. This topic is general discussion at best. If she wanted to ask about Street Fighter techniques, then this forums is filled with them. Everyone wants to come in and ask for the regulars to just compile the info for them, and not work on looking themselves.
MODs, please move to GD.
P.S. Good luck on your journey.
well play lots of matches and watch vids of how chun li matches against other characters.
so swing on by the chun li thread
play mvc2 too.

As someone who used to specialize in guitar hero (exp 4* TTFATF, 3* DWDTG etc.) and then got into fighting games heavily (which made me quit fake guitar) guitar hero is basically just pulling off one big combo. Only bit of strategy is when to activate star power, like in KOF98 when to activate that thing to do more damage. That’s basically it. Fighting games are a world of difference, I don’t see how it is any relevant you played guitar hero to a pro level. Besides all the goddamn motions, certain combos require timing, you have to analyze frames to see which to use, safe on block, if it gatlings into that. Then the whole close in, which tactic to use. Then 2d fighting game thingies like crossups, projectiles you can’t sidestep. And Street Fighter is a mindgame at its core, not combo-based. If you want to take this on, you have your work cut out for you.
P.S. You don’t play fighting games with a guitar hero controller.
what the fuck is this
“you might know me for guitar hero” get the fuck out of here with that shit
also being famous for soul calibur as well
just the fact that you started that topic here dedicated to yourself shows you are full of yourself
That’s all that really matters.
God damn… for a second their I thought I was on /b/

Guitar Hero to Streetfighter is gonna be a big leap, I don’t care who’s trying to teach you.
I tried teaching people a game before and you either have the attention for it or not.
Well Gootecks taught her…so thats a start… And yeah GL…Read Stickies, get an arcade stick and practice alot…same as practicing GH you gotta put your head in the game, know the game inside and out
this is the same thing that went threw my head when reading this
It all comes down to playing everyday with skilled people, reading up strategies, watching high level matches, repeat. The combo execution is a small part compared to the mindgame. Just keep playing endlessly for hours everyday online, and you’re bound to improve. If you have that drive for guitar hero, use it in street fighter 4. However for something more combo-based that I feel would satisfy your needs more as a gh player (since songs are one big combo), wait for blazblue and pick that up.
I listened to your interview on LO3. I didn’t think you were actually serious about getting better at SF4, but it seems that you are, judging by the measures that you’re taking. So props to you for that however I’m going to neg you for the attention whoring.
