What about EX characters that have been available in the GGXX games throughout the years? Should we just enable those too? Don’t be silly.

Just becuase a character is not in the arcade version shouldn’t be a reason to ban them from tournament play now after everything is switching to console(back then it made sense).
Now if they said Kliff and Justice are banned becuase they are broken I can agree with that.
Except, you know, people actually still play this game in arcades. :looney:
Let’s not forget that ultimately it is the individual tournament organizer’s decision on whether or not to ban Kliff and Justice or EX characters…
That being said, I wish Kliff at least was tourney legal, I like his character and moveset. Without him, I’d just play Slayer on the rare occasions that I actually get around to playing Guilty Gear
We in the UK did get the Wii version of AC though.
the argument if console exclusive characters should be tournament legal is old and has been decided by the community. luckily for us this will be less of an issue in the future. though in this particular case the characters are slightly overpowered. with the extreme ease of use with kliff and the overall power of justice. though i’m always up for adding more characters.
on a different note i’m kind of upset with myself as i believe there should be a few others other like me. i dropped ggxxac after the announcement of blazblue feeling there would be no need to keep practicing it. but now that i see the community is still strong and tournaments are still going i’m at lost since i sold my copy. this sucks…

I hate Accent Core (big aksys fan, but I never liked Guilty Gear), but if Aksys is serious about making an “HD REMIX” of Accent Core, I would pay 1600 microsoft points or up for it as a downloadable title as long as it included smart balance changes (therefore it wouldn’t be accent core =D)
As for allowing Kliff and Justice, I say, WHY NOT? The SF community has already decided that console chars for both TvC and SFIV WILL be allowed, and if Kliff And Justice ARE beatable and on par with the top chars already in the game I don’t see why it would be an issue, especially if they don’t stop the game from being played or have unplayable matchups, Im not saying the community absolutely should, but you also don’t have to follow japan on everything they do, especially considering that we depend on console over here as a community and not the arcades, my two cents and not trying to start an involved discussion on this.
I doubt Kliff old boy and Justice will have been changed too much to make them balenced.
First of all, can you prove that? Not that I hope you’re wrong, but I’d like some proof (or is it something revealed under NDA?) before spouting it as fact.
Second, while it is true that traditionally characters “not in the arcade” aren’t allowed in tournaments, this a) isn’t always true - see Soul Calibur for example and b) this isn’t likely to hold in the future, especially as arcades are practically non-existent in the US save for a few spots here and there. SFIV is already bucking that archaic trend, because 99% of the people playing it will be playing it on console exclusively…
japan has been updating their arcade machines. street fighter alpha 3 is an example. i’ve heard rumors of sfIV getting updated also.
as far as accent core plus goes with me. 3-4 extra stages. im not sure if they put in i-no’s 3rd voice set or not but that would be nice if they did.
