Xrd 2014. The local people around me, those who have already invested a little in to GG have come out for ACR, and those who were interested but written the series off as dead are just waiting for Xrd now.

Seriously.
It’s easy to sit there from a high horse with an ideal that you should just “play what you want”, but we all have our priorities in life. I only play fighting games nowadays, and I don’t play them anymore simply as a means to kill time. I’m not a kid anymore, with time being some near infinite resource to apply to games. I play FGs for the stimulating mental and social aspects their competitive elements bring - a reflection of my priorities growing into an adult. If the competition isn’t there - it’s a waste of a precious resource. I’ll continue to play SSF4 and Marvel because they reflect the value I place on competition over the games themselves. Literally no one is playing Guilty Gear in my area because they’re all waiting for the new standard to drop.
Only an idiot wouldn’t consider the potential priorities of others and then spearhead a one-dimensional judgement.

And this isn’t some chicken-or-the-egg dilemma either. Around the Japanese release window, the game had a real chance for some traction in the American FGC for a good 2-3 weeks. Popular areas like SoCal were streaming the game consistently, and the series was on the tip of everyone’s tongue after the Xrd media blowout. It was about as perfect a storm as this series could get. But all of that hype has died down due to the simple matter of Atlus not caring enough to give us the newest-fucking game to play. It’s the Chicken’s fault.
Meh, I’ve been trying to catch up on other fighting games in the meantime (Virtua Fighter 5 FS, BlazBlue CS Extend, going back to Capcom Vs. SNK 2 and Vampire Savior). I’ve been getting by on watching match videos and such but can’t do much with the new info on just AC+
As for Xrd I’m not really worried about that as long as we 'Murricans can get the +R update in a “timely” manner.

Also you need to remember that there could be a great amount of shit happening so pining everything to ASW is just idiotic, before starting trying to point fingers as to who has the blame we 1st need to know what the hell is happeining.
For all we know this could be everyones fault, not only the publisher, but sony and microsoft as well.
I often mix up Atlus/Arcsys with publishing GG calm the fuck down.
Who else’s fault could it be the game is not being released outside Japan in a timely fashion? Get real. I’m sure they have their reasons that may be justifiable from a business perspective - but that’s not my concern as a consumer. It’s not like I’m looking to coalesce a lych mob or something - I’m just talking about the effects of the conclusion of the update not being released here yet and my disappointment with that. Your willingness to delegate degrees of blame to other parties is just as justifiable as my willingness to delegate all of it to Arc Sys given the lack of evidence for its delay.

I’ve started playing GGAC for Wii again in anticipation of this update, so I’ll be ready to buy the game for 360 when +R is released. Hopefully there will be some people online.
But I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a used PS3. Do you guys think I should just go ahead and do that? I just wanna go where the majority of NA players will be.
Xrd was announced for PS3 and PS4, so yeah it’s an option.
Does the pushback with FD active only take place when the opponent hits your block, or do you have to hold it all the way through? I’m wondering if doing a ‘FD instant block’ is a better way than just holding it.
It’s better to just have it active as the moves hit and not afterwards.
Do we know if the online is cross-compatible?
Not yet, but I think the majority is planning on the PS3 version since it uses hardware that people already have. Unless the PS4 can offer some breakthrough for better online but I doubt it.

Are you serious? I always figured people would move soon after the PS4 came out. That’s what I expect from the X1, since that’s what seemed to happen when the 360 came out… I just wanna go where the majority of GG players will be. I’ll also be getting a PSVita TV when it’s released, but I haven’t heard anything about a GG Xrd Vita release.
Apparently ArcSys finally announced something about the NA +R update.
According to the bottom of this high heel shoe we are getting the update sometime at the end of 2013.
