Hopefully not. No I don’t mean I don’t want Eddy in the game (though please a different fight pose than his ass facing the audience, and he definitely could use a costume change), but I don’t want him to be the best character. Wasn’t he always the top character in every guilty gear he was in? While the games were rebalanced with each iteration and top characters got rotated, Eddy was always a fixture on the top of the mountain. Always found that incredibly annoying.

I’m totally loving the intros and winning animations, and the graphics are really gorgeous.

Now it seems that super is more direct, i remember back in the day i didn’t know Faust used that giant scalpel to stick it in the enemy’s ass. I used to think it was just a weird place of the sprites or something like that.
But now with the fingers attack, the enemy pose and their faces there won’t be any doubts for newcomers.

The first thing that popped into my head when I read that was ASW and SNK should join forces and make a new console. I doubt that would ever happen, but it’s a sweet thought.

I really hope this manages to live up to the hype and actually does manage to bring air dashers into the main stream. Arcsys, please shoot for a worldwide release and spread hype all around the world for this one.
And a 360/X1 release too.
Even if it is as good as everyone hopes, what does a game have to do to be main stream? Be accessible? Have the popular gaming media outlets raving about it? Have an established reputation? Does being anime hurt it?
And that also makes me think, wtf did BlazBlue do wrong? It had the graphics and netcode. And I wasn’t paying attention at the time, but I’d imagine that it had some hype, since it comes from ASW.
Everyone shitting on it hardcore as “The Guilty Gear for people not good enough to play Guilty Gear” Did it absolutely 0 favors. FGC sabotaging their own games own games.
Gonna take a shot in the dark and say BB’s issue was
-It wasn’t GG. To this day, and this is really sad, but to this day, this is apparently still an issue. Some people just refuse to try it or give it proper attention for that reason alone.
- It’s 2D. This may not seem like anything bad at all but to entirely casual players who don’t know jack shit about anything, they’ll probably be like “why isn’t this a 15 buck download?” GG may look 2D but the fact that it’s 3D will further blow people’s minds with it’s art style.
-It wasn’t GG. I seriously have to push how big of an issue this caused for BB that didn’t deserve to be there.
-Small roster. If Johnny from down the street came from SF4 to BBCT, he’d probably be a bit turned off at how the roster was much smaller.
