Kum was already kind of annoying to deal with; this is just more evidence that we are in the darkest timeline lol. Seriously though, I felt like Kum needed to be able to combo from throw, or have a low damage command grab, but I guess they felt like 200 damage from a 2K is the way to go. Interesting choice, but he def needed something imo

Machaboo can’t be stop and he is overall the best player.

For those worried about Rev2 splitting the community:

Best news I’ve heard all day

since its a 3d game now i wonder why they dont do anything with extra costumes…did they ever mentioned theire reasons for not including some?

I wonder what the chances are people will end up using ā€œedition selectā€ to play Rev1 over Rev2? At least if Rev2 ends up sucking we have a nice contingency plan now

Considering how uniquely animated each character is, I feel like massive costume changes would end up looking a bit odd more than anything. Guilty gear kept itself smart with limited animation, so they still keep to using exagerated frames of animation to give more impactful show of movement, like a character’s arm being blurred or what have you. I imagine for those frames it’s not as simple as just changing a character’s outfit and expecting everything to matchup.

It’s also been awhile since I watched the video on Xrd’s visual style, but since they DO use limited frames of animation, any alteration to an outfit might not be as simple as changing the model and more about changing each individual animation. It might also just be that they don’t want any frame confusion like how some SF costumes make characters look bigger than they are or just hard to even see, to be frank.

damn now people will have to find another excuse to not play :frowning:

Too much anime

I’m pretty sure when SIGN came out they said that doing alternate costumes would just require way to much extra time/effort to be worth it. Can’t say I mind considering the SF5 alternate costume stuff (price, quality, etc) seems to be reaching snake oil salesman levels.

Can’t beat DoA dishing costumes. I can’t even keep up with them.

Tempted to buy the ggxrd & Blazblue costumes.

Those chances are very close to zero

If people don’t use edition select to play rev1, how does it solve the problem of dividing the playerbase at all?

Give me helmet-less Potemkin or give me death.

Because people will still have the option instead of leaving people that can’t/don’t want to/haven’t yet bought Rev2 but still want to play Xrd

is it confirmed that you can play online when you switch to the old version?
of course just with people who own the old version or switched back like you…

That seems to be the implication there, else there’s zero reason to have Edition Select

im just goingto buy the standalone i so get the dlc

upgrade + dlc is similar price

ive got about 10 bb & gg ps3 games already…

If you have rev2 there is no reason to go back to rev1. It still splits the community regardless of this novelty bandaid option to switch back.
I’ll be getting the PC option whenever the fuck that releases. I’ll also still be waiting for the PS4 EU release, eventually :disappointed:

Very happy about the version select. Though there will probably only be Bedman and Raven mains on Rev1.
