Dustloop updates infrequently, I never use twitter, shoryuken only recently now updates itās front page frequent enough for me to be able to use it as a news source and still not that great, which leaves eventhubs and forum posts as my best source of FGC news.
Nah, itās the pointless news articles they post every day. IDGAF about PC costume mods, or LianghuBB videos, or deviantart shit, or news that everyone knew over a week ago. The scrubs in the comments donāt help much either.
They have their reasons. Most of the time, they update news far faster than SRK, so I generally look there first for news. SRK gets it first on occasion, but generally Eventhubs is better about covering things. Unfortunately, that extends to covering things that arenāt immediately relevant to the high level competitive scene like fanart and mods. However, touches like that at least show that they do not suffer from much of an elitist attitude and want to entertain low and high skilled players equally.
Comments are ass though. I only browse them for laughs.
Arc needs to realize that THERE ARE OTHER REGIONS OUTSIDE JAPAN THAT PLAY FIGHTING GAMES. Getting the console port as quickly as possible to the west should be top priority once the arcade release is out. Their goal should be getting the game out in time for EVO2015 and then making sure that it stays on as part of the main event for years to come.
They should just target a worldwide release, like most other folks. Would be best if they just got one publisher to handle things for them instead of splitting between Atlus and Zen Unitedā¦ like say SEGA.
Arc Systems operations likely not big enough for a worldwide release. They donāt even have European division to publish the game themselves in that territory neither does Atlus sadly. Sega isnāt the type of publisher that picks up niche games.
You seem to forget that the arcades are their primary market, also unlike contrary believe they are a small company, so it will not be surprising that in order to get funds on making their games they make deals with the arcade manufacturers where they make their games exclussive for a time for the arcade machines. After all their games help move units and keep people playing in the arcade centers.
Consoles could be the principal way to play fighters around here, but in japan arcades are still viable, they will obviously focus on the market that nets them more profit which is arcades at the moment.
Also add that how poorly recived are their games on the western markets compared to other games and you can see why there is not much incentive :shake:
The region locking of P4A was all atlus, not ASW
Yeah, because it worked so well the last time where SEGA ended owning part of GG leaving them with basically nothing :looney:
You are a little wrong there, the current SEGA is not in the position to pick up niche games, also, keep in mind that is the best interest of SEGA to keep GG on their arcade hardware since it moves units.
I wouldnāt be surprised that one of the reasons why ASW got GG back was with the condition that they will release the new one on Ringedge 2 instead of Nesica like all their other current gen games.
