Don’t worry man, I get it. It’s so hard dealing with Ky’s super oppressive mixup potential. CSE makes everyone so helpless! Plus his mixups really embarrass Millia’s since her mixups do no damage. Plus disc is just two hits whil CSE has more than two hits!
Ky top 3! Whatever shall we do
Do you even play Xrd?
If so, how often? And with who? Online or offline? How much attention do you pay to the scene as a whole?
Have you ever played a competent Millia? What about a competent Ky?
I like how the same arguments come from the same people from the Marvel 3 thread. Some things don’t change. Hopefully American anime comes back one day.
Also, I heard that apparently the fix to Johnny’s unblockable glitch apparently created another glitch that nerfed the mint finer setups now?

Really? After all that you still claim that his oki is too good? Did you even read the rest of my post?
You seriously need to play Ky.
Also, Ky’s weaknesses? Low average damage output and, compared to the rest of the cast, fairly tame mixups. You always get to make relevant decisions against him.
Yeah. That is weird indeed, because it wasn’t correct then either.
I mean I guess. Arguing about how I feel versus how you feel is cool, but just because you feel as strongly about it doesnt mean I have to submit to what youre saying. I feel like Ky is better than Millia, neutral alone. Tierwise they are neck and neck, so I dont really see why my opinion is so divisive. But whatever.
Again, do you even play Xrd
Have you ever played a Millia and/or a Ky worth a damn

He’s played a Millia whose gameplan is 5P x3 into 2D
What’s a mix up

If a character wins through excellent footsies and holding it down like its Street Fighter in a game where people fly straight to your face and anti airing is a bit suspect, how the hell can you be mad at that?

Because he stopped my approach and forced me to block on wakeup.
How dare he.
I think it’s divisive because she has been an undisputed top tier character throughout the life of Xrd. For 1.02 I’d put her right behind the big 3 (Sin, Johnny, Elphelt…then Millia), and now for 1.03 (too early to talk tiers really), but it’s a safe bet to say she will be up there again, her gameplan is just so dominating: she dictates to the cast how the match is going to be played and every character has to fear her mix ups; one knockdown and it can easily be RIP. Ky may end up being a top 5 character as he got some really good buffs, but atm he doesn’t seem to dictate how the match goes in the same way that a character like Millia does…

It’s also a question of matchups. Ky does very well against characters that he can force to play on his terms (which, granted, is a huge portion of the cast). However, characters that disrupt his neutral effectively (Millia, Bedman, possibly Chipp?) or cleanly beat him in neutral (Johnny, Raven, Faust) usually give him problems. Almost all of these characters share the weakness of subpar defensive options, but that’s a weakness Ky isn’t the best at exploiting since, as established, his offense is very basic and his damage isn’t great. He can certainly win in these matches, but he needs to do some serious work on both offense and defense.
Millia, I feel, mostly loses against characters that can somewhat reliably kill her before she gets in, or at least before she manages to exhaust their defensive options. Which would be Johnny, Sin and possibly Sol from the top of my head.
I dunno how both characters are in regards to even matchups though. I’m uncertain how Ky goes against Elphelt and Sin now (I’d imagine it’s reasonably even, Sin might still be unfavorable), but I believe he’s 5-5 against Sol and Zato.
Well Ky by design is going to have a lot of even or even-ish matchups since he is a “shoto”. That’s one of the benefits of having a lot of decent tools. The thing with Millia is, even in MU she ostensibly loses, her comeback potential is still insane; she can have a pixel of life left, get the knockdown, and then run it back.

I’m new to this game, do serious players actually use macros?
On stick atleast…?

I mean it makes things easier, for me at least.
I know plenty who use an RC macro. I used to, although I’ve been weaning myself off it as of late due to it not working with Raven’s stance.
Nothing wrong with macros. Use 'em if you want, don’t use 'em if you don’t want
I thought it’s considered scrubby to use macros on the competitive scene
I use a PK macro for FDC suff . I’m trying to add more of that into my game but sometimes I forget about it in the heat of battle. That actually reminds me, I saw an old, although really sick I-No fdc combo, probably one of the hardest in the game though: https://twitter.com/torisuke1984/status/703962417982607360
