Might aswell get AC for PS3, +R should be coming out for it shortly
I just downloaded the trial on Xbox. Is +R going to be an update for this, or a separate purchase? I donāt want to buy this then have to buy it againā¦
Itāll be just a patch
Yeah, you have to buy AC+ but +R will be a free patching coming out soon. One purchase and thatās all.
Ok, thatās good.
I tried out Jam firstā¦ She looks like a younger Litchi, and she plays like her without the staff. They even have pretty similar characters.
Novril and Specs are making an introductory video series per character and they have finished one for Jam if youāre interested:
They even have more characters that they laid down the basics for and these are good videos to see what you may or may not like about playing a particular character.
Wow. Thatās some impressive stuff.
Do you think they will leave Milliaās nigh unblockable mixups the same? Youāre a liar if you say you could react to her high low okizeme
I imagine they wonāt be as strong as AC since she wonāt have FB disc, but YRC Disc will probably still give decent mixup options. Itll probably be a single hard guess rather than her being zero+assist for 3 seconds.
As far as footage, most CP footage was taken by a cellphone from a monitor showing footage to the outside or to the line going down the stairs iirc. This test seems much more locked down.
ā¦They had a location test, and no oneās said anything about the music yet?
All music and sound effects were placeholders taken from previous games.
Hopes for a early 2014 release
So far, Iām liking Jam, Millia, and Chipp(judging from his āGuilty Bitsā video). I havenāt purchased Accent Core+ yet, Iām still messing around in the trial. Hopefully the game isnāt dead when I buy itā¦
From ElvenShadow.
Venom has corner air loop combo vs PO for like 3 reps using the new dust. K s HS d, jump again repeat.
Saw 2 reps work mid screen on Ky
All Kyās projectiles including the super one are enhanced by the lightening seals. Each one gets different effects. RTL doesnāt do anything w seal.
Solās stage is totally a mixed random mess of all things 'Merca! Thereās even a fat sherrif guy that one bites entire hamburgers at once, and heās very fat. Sitting under his American flag with his feet up on a barrel that says ādangerā
ALL RCs slow down time just to clarify
Venom can charge his new QV move to make the balls as large as charge stinger aim
If you have full bar, venom can summon his new super ball twice and they both remain on screen.
With the way he just described Milliaās Rose super it looks like she will still get multiple mixup shots. Itāll just cost 50% instead of 25% meter. Iām really liking the descriptions of Venom/May/Milliaās new moves. Things like Millia and Venomās new supers and the ball+dolphin hoop ride just scream to me for creative usage and fun tricks/setups.
More on YRCs.
More on RC time slow. All RCs slow time. What it reminds me of is Amaterasu time slow super in Marvel 3 but of course it only lasts a very short time. This is mostly for the YRC like when you use on whiff or projectile cancel. For connected hits that you RC it reminds me of Johnnyās air super in +R how the opponent slowly floats but it doesnāt last nearly as long and isnāt quotes as slow. Essentially it just makes it easier to combo more after an RCed hit. It will probably lead to a few more damaging combos but nothing rediculous and it makes combos with RCs easier for noob players. I also donāt see there bring cheap unblockable a resulting from YRC projectiles. It essentially just recreates things like FRC you flame pressure but in a different way. Of course these are just my impressions and observations and anything is subject to change as it is still early. I hope that clarify things.
It kind of would not surprise me if they reduced the hitstop and got rid of the slowing of time after RCs in later builds. They should really, to get different fan feedback.
The innovation on display in regards to the gameās look and motion is being understated, I feel. How long have various developers - older and modern alike - churned on and on about their love for sprite work, but it becoming exceedingly unfeasible due to the costs and manpower instigated by HD proliferation? This is BETTER than a compromise. This is BETTER than sprite work, imo, and is a legitimate EVOLUTION of that style. Seems as though the implications for this technique are larger than Arc Sys fighting games, and are something developers of other genres (i.e. platformers) and indie developers can look forward to.
Can software development techniques be patented? Iām guessing not, but I canāt imagine other development houses not wanting to get a closer look at this game once it releases. Arc needs the awkward Dust transitions and other things to remind viewers this shit is 3D - because their is truly nothing that looks like this on the market. And it looks wonderful.
Thanks for the response. I also play Tsubaki(who looks a lot like Milliaā¦) and Makoto. Iāll go watch some footage and see who I gravitate towards.
Yeah, I think you would be looking for Jam, since you do play Tsubaki. Order Sol is a charge character, but Order Sol players very much prefer staying close as opposed to closing range quickly. And while Jam slot loads her specials, and the way it plays into her combo dynamics seems to be very similar to how Tsubaki charges in when she is at full charge. I donāt play BB myself, but one of my friends absolutely smashed me with Tsubaki two days ago, which is how I was able to tell.

Ha. You posted this on Dustloop too. I donāt think itās being understated. Pretty sure many people realize this is a huge deal as far as 2D fighting games go. Yeah, this is the best compromise between 2D and 3D thus far and likely many companies will start to use this technique.
Iām a known attention whore donāt judge me.

I dunno, I believe it was mentioned somewhere that they do want to attract more people to play. At the very least, I donāt think theyāll back down on the timeslow after RC. Most likely theyāll have other coloured RCs that donāt timeslow for 25%, but even then, they wont be as effective as the 50% options (Ishiwatari apparently does not like that 25% meter options are more used in AC).
