What do you mean?
I think he means that it wont be like SFIV where you can change the voices on a per character basis.
Oh I was actually asking you heh.
Because Crispin Freeman can sort of match Joji Nakataās work, at least coming from their performances in Hellsing where the former does a decent job at mimicking the deep tones of the latter.
So how is my Waifu Milliaās voice actor? Did they get someone with a Russian accent?
So its confirmed that the PS3 version wonāt be any worse than the PS4 version, this means that I can just skip on the PS4 until FF15 comes out and play this on PS3? I donāt really care how good the game is gonna look as long as it plays well. If cross play can go off without a hitch then I guess Iāll get the PS3 version.
If thatās your main concern then yes, you can skip the PS4 version provided the game runs at the guaranteed 60fps. Developer word is one thing but weāll have to wait until the game comes out to be absolutely sure that thereās no frame rate issues during game play. Cross play will level the playing field of the player base between consoles. If it didnāt than the PS3 version would have a larger player base since most people wonāt have a PS4 at this point due to costs and people working out the stick situation.
In my opinion, Troy Baker did very good job in Overture, but Iām guessing heās too high profile for games like GG now that heās the lead role in a staggering amount of big budget titles.
Going by stream footage since I donāt have a PS4, but I think the only one with a noticeable accent is Axl.
Millia sounds like Liz from P4A.
The PS3 version has an option to remove background objects on stages to ensure itās a constant 60fps. With the option off, thereās apparently minimal, if any, problems with the frame rate, so it may be there just for safety measures.
Troy Baker sounds good for out of combat dialogue. But just like with the Xrd ENG dub, he sucks for attacks. This new Sol dub is horrible. Seems like it would fit Sin better. Zato sounds good.

-THEY GOT SLAYER RIGHT
-EFF YOU GUYS AXLāS VOICE IS COOL
-Venomās voice fits him pretty well.
-Faust is odd. Heās supposed to sound funny, but the execution could have been better.
-I wish Solās was deeper. He sounds like Christian the Bale-edge
-May sounds like a little girl, as expected. Sakura from SF4, but less awkward.
-Ky sounds close enough to his GG2 voice. His lines actually sound right for the character as far as tone and delivery go.
-Millia is a generic female voice. Nothing to get hype for, but tolerable.
-Why does Zato sound so damn uninteresting? No real weight in his voice.
-^Applies to Chipp also
-Canāt judge Bedman yet because he doesnāt talk in his intro.
-Ramlethal falls flat to me. Kinda sad since she IS the final boss.
-I-Noās delivery is mediocre. Her JP voice is so much sexier.
-WTF DID THEY DO TO YOU POTEMKIN?
-Sin sounds exactly like he ought to. The āyoung at heartā thing transfers well.
Isnāt she supposed to sound uninterested? She says sheās a decoy before she tries to get Sol at the end of his arcade story.
Yeah, Ramās got a monotone voice in japanese too.
ENG Faust sounds like he eventually figured out he could never hold a candle to JP Faust and just gave up half way through, he sounds so disinterested and boring for a character so whacky.
@Zazzariusā itās ironic you say that because Millia is actually Mitsuru from P4A.
These VAās arenāt bad but I feel they had no guidance at all in their dubbing. Itās like ASW told these guys to record these lines in the studio without giving them any feedback at all. Itās really noticeable in people like Sol and Ramlethal.
I hope both versions of the game has a means to turn off background animations because I feel this would help keep online play as smooth as possible. A lot of the back grounds in GG Xrd are very animated and it could possibly hamper online play.
The PS4 can more than likely handle it.
This. PS3 needs the help since the console is weaker than the arcade board. PS4 however isnāt, heck I believe itās actually a bit better.
PS4 can handle the backgrounds no problem but during online play the less info that needs to be sent the better. Itās known that several stages in other fighting games are more prone to lag online. Iām generally concerned that the animated backgrounds of GG Xrd could be detrimental to a smooth online experience. The more options to make that online experience as best as possible the better.
If the netcode is done properly, nothing about the background needs to be sent over the network. All that needs to be synced are inputs.
