Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- one of life's gilty pleasures

Has anyone here actually played Xrd? I’d like to know if I-no is a lot easier to main now.

She is.

I-no is much easier than before. No more FRC Chemical Love and the motion becoming IIRC a qcf motion instead, overcomes probably the biggest obstacle in picking her up.

Sweet. Looks like I’ll main her until Testament is announced and put Bedman as a side character.

Yo Sin a polearm user thats derived from Ky fucking with him heavy

Didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

Regarding Ino, she became easier to use, but got nerfed in many aspects of her game as a tradeoff, that without counting the indirect nerfs due the system changes so keep that in mind

I-no is easier to use, but she still has hard things. If you had trouble doing Hoverdash~Airdash, you’re still going to need to practice it. There is a chance her 5H has a little more hitstun, but doing etc>6P>5H>IADj.K>stuff is apparently (from like one person I’ve seen mention it who has played it) isn’t any easier.

CL being a 214 motion, no need to do 6FRC6, and the lack of a need to Jump Install removes a ton of her expectational barrier. She also lost some things in the exchange, like Hecatom said. One of the reasons I picked her up was how she handled burst throws, but she can’t combo after them anymore without RC. Oh well. Guess I’ll just have to start chicken guarding bursts and doing 5K>HCL stuff.

Also, her STBT now carries momentum when you YRC it. That’s cool as fuck, and in my mind is one of her answers against Axl’s stances. Wait for a mid/high chain, STBT YRC>Airdash>Combo.

I’ve made a video guide how to do it easily.

Would I-No’s new upward hoverdash input interfere with the hoverdash>airdash shortcut? I guess, does up hover cost your air options? And is I-No’s command grab a true grab, or an air unblockable?

Upward dash input is 663. She has air options from it like she would from a normal hoverdash. Her command grab is a standard GG command grab. You can’t block it in the air. It can’t grab bursts from what I can tell, but It can catch air techs.

My hand sucks at doing it to the right. I’m bad. Something mental about doing 6956 quickly or something.

Woo, 669563214(6)S.
And on the topic of Fastfall VCL, I’ve seen players stop using that and just use standard VCL YRC, since it’s reversal safe, still meaty, and allows an airdash after it.

Why is there no one combo-ing into their Instant Kill? Is it not worth it or something?

many of the cases where you can combo your IK, you can also just kill them with a plain combo

the ol’ dizzy 'em and IK 'em is probably still a thing, but I haven’t seen many dizzies in Xrd

edit: also I’m not sure of the combo-IK requirements. Like, do you have to start your combo inside their life-threshold to combo-IK them, or can you start outside the threshold.

AFAIK, they don’t enter Hellfire state mid combo, so you wouldn’t be able to combo into IK if you started beyond that. As long as they are, though, you can do it. Then you get 50%+ tension and IK activation super freeze.

Also, reaction RCing to a move that dizzies, and then activating IK should probably make that certain situation a more common thing. Right? It should, in theory, guarantee the IK, at least more so than in older games. andinmydreamsslayercaneternalwingsintoIK. andinocanjustdowhateverintovclrcik.

rc slowdown would give them more time to shake out?

I mean like…say Slayers Pilebunker dizzies the opponent, but you RC~IK activate before the even hit the ground. That way you are able to activate as soon as they get up. In theory, at least…I guess. Probably.

Couldn’t they just block it?

No, they’re dizzy. Unless you can start shaking out of dizzy before you recover? I don’t think I’ve ever spent time to learn about it outside of “Hey, do a good combo here.”

Ah naw i read it wrong. I thought you where saying combo into a knock down, so they could just get up and block, but you mean combo into a dizzy, which probably should work what with the RC slowdown an such.

Ino combo after airthrow. Woo.
