Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- one of life's gilty pleasures

For me, I like seeing Slayer be able to do 5K gatling into 6HS, return of Reload air chains but still has AC j.2K, cl.S Far S loops, and whatever else he has new. I could see why people are disappointed in smaller 2HS, smaller Pile Bunker, and etc. though. I thought he could combo off of 6K, but I guess we have to truly test and see it in console version (since the probability of character changes is likely) and see what he could do.

I’m still playing GG+R locally, but all I’m playing now is Millia and Ky since my main, Venom, was nerfed and I lost motivation to really dig deeper into learning +R Venom by taking Fino’s stuff when I got to watch Xrd Venom and get excited for that instead and remain disappointed with +R Venom. I got the other guys into KOF98um as I said before, so we’re working on that now with some interludes of Guilty Gear and Dokapon Kingdom.

You already stated your opinion much earlier, multiple times; at this point it’s as if you want to be an obnoxious killjoy. Especially with the improper usage of “their,” “there,” and “they’re.” It’s as if you been infected by the General Discussion board. “Compltely”

I was just being Po there was’t I

That’s why I said “almost”.

Slayer also seems like one of the characters who can take advantage of RC slowdown most effectively. Random pilebunker in the corner can (seemingly) be confirmed into RC into pretty good damage. Sol can as well from being able to do f.HS RC Bandit Bringer confirm. I’m not too sure about if and how other characters can take advantage of RC slowdown (compared to just standard RC timing)

I disagreed only because it’s MORE tedious than any other game out there damn near everything is character specific you have to learn like 20-30 hit loops which is 2 times longer than optomized anything in gg or bb

You’re right, I actually learned my Azrael, Amane, Bullet, and Kagura bnbs. Only got down Filia and Painwheel’s down pre-Squiggly patch then ended up not giving a care anymore. I want to like the game, but the combo system is preventing me from doing so.

I haven’t played GG after vanilla X2, so I’m afraid I can’t relate to much of what Mike Z’s talking about. I do agree with the camera angle change when you land a dust. I think that needs to go.

I don’t give a shit what Mike Z says. Because Sol came out awesome. I’ll miss AC Grand Viper but I’ll take that loss with the new Fafnir and RC system.

New Fafnir seems dumb :stuck_out_tongue:

hi  i’m totally noob to the GG universe and i’m looking forward to Xrd! i’m starting to play some #R on pc through netplay patch, are there any noob/beginner european players who want to play with me?

I recomend AC+R on PS3/Xbox over #R, has a more active player base

i know but if they built Xrd from #R then i’m gonna play #R :stuck_out_tongue:

Xrd has elements from Xrd, AC and AC+R

That’s not how it works. There just as many, if not more changes from #R to Xrd than there are from AC+R to Xrd. Xrd resembles #R as a base, but it’s still an entirely different game.

Word, what many people seem to misunderstand is that Xrd use #R as a base for the characters, but at the same time the game still has a lot of mechanic changes that were introduced on later games, and the chars are not necesarily an exact representation of the #R versions of them, some (like Ino) still retained some of the changes that they have from later games.

Sometimes i feel that the #R heads are using this as a way to misguide the newcomers on playing it

Just because it isn’t 100% the same game doesn’t mean you wouldn’t be better off practicing #R to get ready for Xrd. The changes characters got in later games was to make AC players a bit more comfortable with the new engine and mechanics, but it’s still basically #R. Practicing AC or +R would get you seven kinds of fucked up when Xrd comes out.

+R would still teach you about Guilty Gear mechanics regardless. At worst you’d have to adjust for Xrd changes. Why go back to a long dead game?

Just b/c it’s “based” off #R, doesn’t mean it’s gonna be EXACTLY like that game. Or do you really think Japan went back to playing it when they heard about Xrd? lmao.

+R isn’t exactly alive in the states either. My problem is with the phrase “misguide new players” when it really isn’t. The most recent game in the series would be ideal for the community but for being prepared for Xrd going from AC would be like grinding 3S to get ready for SF4.
