Would just like to point out the benefits of the small (but reasonable and expected) roster:

-The game is alot more manageable and easier to get into for newcomers and veterans alike
-Easier to pick and learn characters
-Way easier to learn match-ups since many people will be on each character
-Multiple people playing a character means multiple play styles, and overcrowding means characters and gameplay will evolve alot quicker
-You will be well and ready by the time the inevitable expansion comes out =]

I main Baiken and Jam so believe me I feel pain (in my chesuto), but let’s be reasonable; with the game looking as amazing as it does, you gotta understand the amount of effort that goes into each character and all other aspects of this game. Plus, Guilty Gear is luckily filled with amazing characters so there is always someone you like (and someone you’ll enjoy on a gameplay level because GG characters deep like dat).

Also I’d rather the game come out sooner, rather than later.

They already said that they will add the rest of the characters eventually

Guilty Gear Xrd will be running on RingEdge 2, same board as GGXXACPR

BlazBlue CP and P4U2 are running on Taito Type X2

Ok, that much I already knew. I guess I wasn’t clear enough (friday afternoon, office is wayyy to warm with it’s southern aspect, gettin’ sleepy).

I’ll just have to take a look myself. I guess what I’m interested in is whether separate cabs will be required for GG or if Aksys are going to migrate the existing multigame cab system to Ringedge hardware (if that makes sense).

My local has a fat stack of games on each multi including different iterations of BB, P4, Aquapazza, etc - it seems to be the norm for Aksys… I’m just curious as to whether or not GG will be solo or part of the existing setup.

Looks like Xrd will be on multicabs which means day one delivery to my local!

‘Backyard’ sounds like the same kind of silly name that real life English physicists would come up with, though. It’d either be named after someone or have a stupid name, that’s how these things work.

I know, I’ve been literally saying this for years, and have said it so many times here and on DL that I’ve lost count. Daisuke promised us personally during an interview at London’s Gamerbase that all the characters will make a return (with new characters on top); but everyone keeps ignoring me when I say this.

Someone mentioned that (knowing GG and Daisuke) that it is a reference to the Swedish Rock band ‘Backyard Babies’.

Aksys is the usa publisher, they are 2 different companies.

As for your question, What???
If you are asking if Xrd will run on a plattaform like Taito’s Nesica then yes, sega has its own system similar to it.
