On the downside:
Daisuke has declared the GGX-GGXX games as “non-canon.” What exactly this entails who knows? I assume its for massive retcon purposes and maybe cleaning up some backstory or removing unpopular characters from continuity. But really who knows?
On the upside:

The stories in GGX-XX were too epic not to be included. Than agian, there would be way too many plot holes and shit to fix up if they were left in.
In an early article there was a chart showing what happened after GG1 flowing into GGX->XX->Reload etc.
Underneath it another path split off from GG1 running parallel to the X/XX series…I pretty much figured from that point that the fighting series was taking place in another dimension. Probably has something to do with Axl and Raven.
…At least that’s what I was hoping for…isn’t Dizzy technically non canonical then? Fucking shit, it’s like trying to keep up with Tenchi Muyo.
They gonna probably campaign the shit out of this new ‘real’ story now.

So Sol isn’t needed for the upcoming big bad that makes the 1oo year war look like crap in a toilet? That also means Slayer, Venom, etc(entire cast) didn’t fight anyone too. That also means Axl and Raven having a connection could be out as well since GGXX is a non-canon side-story. This better be a damn rumor. Oveture doesn’t make for a better story anyway. That bastard probally though Overture was so cool lets dump the X/XX story and go with Overture instead. Idiot. Cuz GG is about Master’s and the Master Ghost NOT FUCKING GEARS.

well, if everything is retconned, then if he makes a true sequel to the 2d series, there will be less explaining to do if (when he) decides to cut characters and bring new ones into the mix. Or maybe, XX onwards is its own seperate universe now, what if Justice had a daughter etc
I have a feeling if he makes an all new 2d game that it would get Street Fighter 3 syndrome and suffer being unpopular due ot the unfamiliarity with the characters. Though with Overture out it may be a way to familierize players with the new characters before the new 2d game comes out…bleh idk I’ll just stop typing.

well, if they make a 2D game with Overture stuff, itll probably turn into Guilty Gear 2: X, and then either be its own universe in its own (making 3 o.O ) if it doesnt go with Daisukes whole, GG2 series.
Now, my question is, Overture means opening, so whats after that? Im not that knowledgable on musical composition.
