You’re right…

I need more practice…I am definitely anticipating later hits in the combo especially the fadc…

I will turn inputs on…

Dam i also play more online matches then off.

Thanks for your time… appreciate it… will practice and update with status in a week or so.

How do i do flash kick xx super?

Easiest way to do it (for me at least) is the following motion:

(charge):db:,:uf:+:hk:,:db:,:uf:+:lk:

You can actually use any combination of kick strengths to do fk to super, but the one I posted gives you the most damage. You pretty much just go back and forth from :db: to :uf: twice really fast, and each time you hit :uf: you hit a kick button.

Oh, you don’t need a DF huh, cool. That’ll make things easier.

How do I clp x2-x4 into FK? I’m still working on it in training and it is easy to do with 1 clp but 2 or more and it becomes troublesome for me. Any tips?

Can someone make a video of them doing clp>mlp and clp>clp>mlp with input display on. That way everyone can see the timing.

If you just mash jab, you can’t cancel into a special, you have to link them, which means you have to wait until the animation is over to begin your next move.

I made a video with the input commands on. I managed to do it at the very end but don’t understand how. I’ve been unsuccessful in my attempts since then to do it again.

To be specific, the motion for an Ultra/Super is:

  1. Down Back
  2. Any type of forward.
  3. Down Back.
  4. Any type of Up.

That’s why the super motion I posted works. It hits all 4 inputs I mentioned.

Holy shit, that works? I was trying to do the ST method of super for Super/Ultra and couldn’t connect it [charge :db:, :df:, :db:, :ub:+:k:['s]]. Maybe I should give this game another go [next time I go to Fry’s Electronics. I hope they still have it up!].

I do the motion you mentioned, but my inputs look like this in training mode

:db:, :r:, :df:, :d:, :db:, :l:, :ub:+:k:

Same concept, but it’s way easier for me cause I just make like a lowercase “b” using the joystick and riding the square gate.

There are two ways to do this, you can either link the second jab to the third (preferred) or link the third jab to fk.

using the first method you need to pause between the second and third jabs. The second jab must fully recover before you input the third jab, this is what it means to link.

using the second method you can hit the first three jabs at any speed, but the flash kick must not be inputted until the third jab fully recovers. This is very similar to shoto c.lk, c.lp, srk, except it’s much harder.

What exactly is a fully recovered jab?

I slowed down my FK input like you said and it’s working pretty good so far. I’m only at a 40% success rate so far but that’s better 0%. Thanks for the tips.

You have to wait until the animation of the jab is complete, if you interrupt it, its considered a cancel not a link.

So when he is pulling his arm back after the jab hits, that’s considered the full animation?

The full animation is when Guile returns to his normal crouch stance, but if you wait for that to input the motion, its obviously too late. You need to do it so it registers in that timeframe so for all intents and purposes its close to when he is about to return to his normal crouch stance.

I’m attempting to link clp, clp, slp, shp and clp, slp, shp, shp but can’t get the timing down. Is two shp the hardest link for Guile? Any advice on either of them would be good.

I have never seen the second combo you mentioned, it must be character specific…? Far standing fierce into far standing fierce is a 1 frame link on non counter hit, but so are most of guiles links, like c.lp, c.mp. When you land a double fierce in a match its usually when your opponent is doing a move that techs him forward, so its hard to replicate on a stationary training dummy, since the first far fierce pushes him back. (double fierce on counter hit is stupid ez to link, 4 frames… rog status lol)

We really cant give you advice on links, use plinking, and practice in training mode. “wait a bit then push the button” Not sure what you want to hear. To be honest muscle memory is a big part of it.

From my experience it lands on chunkier characters like Abel, Gief, and I think I nailed Sagat, but it’s been a while since I last Guile’d.
