Capcom’s lack of communication is frustrating.
New Guile footage:

Combo just stated the FK is invincible on the way up. Maybe a change or he mispoke?
“On the way up” is not “on start up”
Better than nothing. Maybe its invincible after leaving the ground?
In the WSO videos, I noticed his FK beating out fully extended jump attacks around frame 5-6 of the FK animation. It probably has some invincibility around that time, maybe upper body invincibility.
apparently in vtriger guile can throw the first sonic boom by pressing hp,hk at the same time.
Having upper body invuln would mean that, as an anti air, it can function almost identically as it used to. That would be great! I was thinking it had no invuln at all unless ex.
Wait what the fuck, you can apparently cancel the V-skill-recovery into booms.
That’s so, so good for projectile wars. And it’s also going to be even greater than I imagined for baiting jumps, since everyone’s going to see that and be “oh he used his V-skill, boom incoming”. And there might be some CCH sweep into V-skill-oki available.
Like the hitbox on Nash’s ex scythe - where the hitbox is so far out from Nash’s hurtbox, and the hurtbox is so shrunken, that it might as well be invincible to jump attacks?

Yeah I’m dropping most of my characters for Guile once he’s released. :looney:
Regardless of what Combofiend says about him being the first truly defensive character, I see Guile having a lot more opportunity to be played in an offensive style than he had in SF4. No focus attack is a big deal. I can see Nuckledu going in with this character if he decides to play both Guile and Nash. I for one will be definitely trying to play him in an aggressive manner.
Well, it did work in a way in SF4, so if playing initially defensive characters aggresively is your thing, why not?
I, for one, intend to lame everyone the fuck out though.
I really like playing an offensive Guile with the option of playing lame. Fairly certain I’ll be able to do the same here since his normals for the most part haven’t changed.
Yea his v-skill is really good. It hits as an anti air too sometimes. Still not sure exactly how it works. I think it’s hitbox grows towards the end of the animation. You can jump in on it and punish Guile on the beginning frames, but if you wait too long then it does have the ability to hit you out of the air. That’s how I think it works anyway.
It could be possible that anti air v-skill, flash kick works. I still haven’t actually seen it done though. If it does work, something like anti air v-skill, sonic boom, v-trigger cancel, sonic hurricane might work too. Shit I wonder if anti air sonic boom, v-trigger cancel, flash kick, sonic hurricane works too? You can cancel into super from flash kick now so maybe.
Yea, it should just work even better here, that’s what I mean.

Guile’s V reversal being on punch is going to be a problem. If you want to do a reversal EX SB, you won’t be able to use the 3p button. You will need to use 2p.
For anyone who has missed it. Here’s the Capcom Pro Talk with Combofiend.
Have to be subscribed to see it. Might as well just wait for the youtube.
