Guile Combo Thread: Flash Kick FADC *shades*!

My guile is at beginner level,so when I go for the fk fadc u2 it ridicilously autocorrects to the wrong direction. need help with that.

Basically you just need to be careful with your ranges and how long you hold down the FA. It goes the wrong way only if you actually dash under your opponent while they’re in the air which means you’re either too close or you’re dashing a little too soon after pressing FA. Try from further distances (using HK FK) or just hold down FA a little longer before dashing.

What I do with FK + FADC Forward Dash + SH is to wait a little pressing the FA and not doing the Forward Dash motion right away, let Guile take his hand a little down, and then the motion for the Forward Dash.

Or what Ahgama says…mind the ranges and try them against every character, cause for example, some characters fall in the center of the Sonic Hurricane and there isn’t any damage done…

Hope it helps!

BTW, I’m having problems with the Back Dash version of the combo, any tips?

it really helped thank you

guys, ever since I started playing guile I had never done a level 2-3 crumple to c.hp>super(real match). Today I did it. I feel proud. Shades on

Here’s a really dumb question.
Can the following be option selected?

:db::lk:, :db::lk:,:b::lp: > :ub::hp:~:hk:

The only reason I ask is because there’s times when I use cr.lk (x2), st.lp > hk flashkick and then there’s other times when I use cr.lk (x2), st.lp > st.hp instead.

Short answer is no because there is a 10f window to input your button when you complete the motion for a special move to still get that special move to come out. The b+LP > ub+HP link you are trying to perform has to let the s.LP complete its full animation(12f) frames+8f of hitpause. This is 20f so you wont be able to get a FK out of this.

Hm, thanks. A few of us in our irc room were trying to pull it off and studied the frame data at the same time. We came up with the same results but I figured I’d get an outside input at the same time.

Have you guys found any use for the j.HP/j.HK - df.HK - c.LP/c.MP/c.HP reset in the corner?

I’ll go for a reset in the corner if they’re dizzy. Generally, I use j.HK , df.HK , HK ,(reset) into throw. The final HK does 130 damage (before scaling, same as HK FK in AE) if it’s the close standing HK, which is character specific. On other characters, the far stepkick HK comes out, which is 110 before scaling, but the reset still works.

noob question, but can you combo cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.mp, h.flash kick from a far away l. sonic boom? i’ve tried, but i keep missing the cr.mp. i think it’s just that i’m lacking precision, but i just want to be sure instead of spending time trying to do it.

do you mean sonic boom, dash in? or like cr.mp sonic boom xx cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.mp? cuz if its the second combo, you need to do cr.lp cr.mp flash kick

For corner combos, I’m using the following setups more and more.

  1. cr.mp xx boom > cr.mp xx boom > df +hk > hk flashkick
  2. cr.mp xx boom > cr.mp xx boom > cr.hk

yeah, dashing in. also thanks for that other combo, i’ll try it now

yes then that combo definitely works

i always find it funny that guile is considered a low execution character. i’m not amazing, but i consider myself to have at the very least slightly above average execution. for example, i can do basically any sakura/yun/shoto combo you can put in front of me (maybe not first time, but pretty quickly). however, the combos that have always alluded me all happen to be guile ones!

bear in mind i play on pad, so maybe it’s got something to do with that.

cr.hp x flash kick
cr.mp x boom, cr.mp x boom
cr.mp x ex boom, cr.mp x ex boom
dash/fadc ultra 2 (gave up on this one when it became not worth using anymore. did this on stick after trying for 5 mins)

I’m guessing you meant to say cl.st.fp x flash kick? or is there some craziness that I dont know about down-fierce…
I think he’s considered low execution in that the harder combos are not needed for him to get by. The difficult part is really the damn c.lp -> c.mp 1 frame link. UDK -> c.mp is even more difficult for me to get the timing down, thank god they made it a 2 framer in 2012

yes i did. i guess this must be way harder to pull off on a pad than stick.

Check out my comments above.

cool. i have done the cmp x ex boom one a couple of times in training, but i’ve never got it consistently. i don’t think i’ve ever pulled off the normal boom combo though.

as for st.hp x flashkick, is there a trick to this that i’m not aware of? whenever i try this on my pad, i lose my down charge. on stick, i can see how this is possible, because i’ve been in positions where i thought i was holding down back, and then when i’d go for a cr.mp, guile would actually do a standing medium.
