Apologies if this is already known, but I didn’t find it anywhere in this forum so figured I’d go ahead and share.
Against 80% of the cast, Guile can combo into :df::hk: after a Focus Attack. Odds are you’ve seen or tried it on big characters, but it works on smaller characters as well with the right timing.
I thought about this after doing Sagat’s Challenge mode. For some of his trials that involve an EX Focus, you need to wait for Dan to slump forward before doing the next hit in the combo. Same rule applies to :df::hk: after Focus.
To practice, I recommend picking Ryu, Ken, or Akuma. Hit them with a Focus Attack, dash cancel forward, then hold :df:. Right after they slump to their knees, hit :hk:. Based on my testing, this timing seems to be the same against every character that requires the delayed input.
First off, here are the characters that do not require a delayed :df::hk: after Focus:
-Dudley, Seth, Gouken, Abel, Bison, Sagat, Cammy, Dee Jay, Hakan, Fuerte*, Balrog*
*Doing :df::hk: right away sometimes whiffs on Fuerte and Balrog. I recommend delaying it a little to ensure consistency.
Here are the characters who do require a delayed :df::hk: after Focus:
-Ryu, Ken, Honda, Ibuki, Makoto, Akuma, Gen, Sakura, Guile, *Fei Long
*When I was testing it on Fei Long, the timing seemed to be harder and required me to wait a little longer. Personally I’d recommend against trying this combo on him as it didn’t seem consistent.
Finally, here are the characters that cannot be hit with :df::hk: after Focus:
-Dan, Juri, Chun, Dhalsim, Viper, Cody, Adon
Note: I tested this after lvl 2, lvl 3, and CH lvl 1 Focus against some characters, but not all. While using different Focus Attacks didn’t seem to make a difference, I can’t rule it out for certain.
