lol you’re putting me on spot…to DEFEND mb? I don’t like mb, at all. Damage reductions(arguably done by Alpha 3, depending on how you look at it. There’s time stop, again arguably out done by sam sho 5. Although previously done by KoF, this is the first time that a game allows everyone to have random critical hits at any conditions. All jumps can be controlled forward and back, even the “neutral” jump. In ReAct some characters have “close” airborne normals(like how in most other fighters do different normals up close? They could do one in air in MBR). Their most original one is their counter, which has armor properties at first and then attack afterwards, if you do it as a guardcancel, it cost you meter but is bufferable to specials/moves either on first frame or during active hit frames. Obviously SF 4 and KoF XII are the ones who copied MB in that case. The 3 versions of 1 character should be noted.

With all that said, MB is still a shitty game that requires everyone to be played the same way and imo doesn’t belong in the top 10 list. I was just giving an example.

Garou:MOTW is the Street Fighter III to the Fatal Fury Series. KoF has its’ own backwards continuity. If KoF actually had proper consistency with the SNK properties used in the game, Clark and Ralf would be geezers, there would be no FF team after 2K4, Goro would have retired, Yamazaki and Billy Cane would have been apprehended, Mr Big would rock a gertle, the AOF team would be old, the Garou team would sport Rock, Takuma would be creamated, Krauser wouldn’t exists after 97, and Geese would be dead.

Well that’s not to mention the fact that Kyo still isn’t out of high school and Athena is getting younger every tourney. :looney:

Well Athena’s powers prevent her from aging. And Kyo, well he just dropped out.

Yeah Garou takes place like 10 years after Fatal Fury 3. I tend to feel like FF has no story relation to KOF at all because KOF makes no fucking sense.

Giving new meaning to the phrase curley mustache i

Never does. Don’t play KoF if you want a story. KoF only exists simply on the fact that it’s a fighting game that changes its’ gameplay, character roster, bosses, and backdrops, every year/rendition. I’m sure that the characters, which are involved and created directly for KoF, have some sort of constant story. Hence why the Heroes Team, whether Team Japan or not, wins every KoF tournament.

Surprisingly, all the other fighters, in KoF, haven’t picked up on this yet, or some just don’t care about winning i.e. Terry who just shows up strictly for some sort of emotional high or fix because of fighting.

I’m glad KoF makes *real competitve gamer’s *best fighting game lists. Hell, I wished they kept the format. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2003 is the best KoF ever.

I thought that the SamSho characters aren’t in KOF b/c it tries to have some sort of a story and fit in with the other SNK games.

Guess I was wrong.

I didnt understood the point of your post (whats the idea and from where you come with it). Please elaborate

Sam Sho chars aren’t in KOF cause sam sho cars are from the flipping samurai ages. KOF isn’t world heroes man (though the movie people are thinking that way) at least you can have your matchups on the NGBC series)

wow worst list of fighting games ever.

  1. and 4. are ok, but wow…

Great, so she’s a pedophile’s greatest fantasy…

And shame on Kyo, shouldn’t he be giving an example to arcade players out there.

Going by contributions to the genre and/or the industry as opposed to personal favorites wouldn’t the list be:

  1. Street Fighter
  2. Mortal Kombat
  3. Virtua Fighter
  4. Samurai Showdown
  5. Tekken
  6. Soul Edge/Calibur
  7. Smash Bros.
  8. KOF
  9. Marvel Vs.
  10. Killer Instinct?

While 5-10 are debatable, Street Fighter revolutionized the fighting genre single handedly, Mortal Kombat made a ton of cash and forced a congressional hearing that changed the face of games forever, Virtua Fighter brought 3D fighters to life, and Samurai Showdown popularized the basic formula for most weapons based fighters as we know it.

Samurai Shodown also popularized alot of fighitng mechanices because its a pioneer in fighting games along with SF; and also popularized use of helpers/pets in battle, and was first fighting game with 3D multi-tiered arenas (SS64)

Mortal Kombat is so low in that video list because even Boon says “Mortal Kombat never was a serious fighting game and we never aimed for it to be one, its just like sit with friends, beat you friend’s character up and have fun”…period. Boon basically says its a casual fighting serie by all means

i guess u like games with no balance and infinite combos.

st
vs2
kof series
msh
sf4
umk3
ss series
all i play

when an infinite can be learned in 1 min, and not even that hard at all to pull off theres a problem. having a game were 1 to 2 characters dominant the game there is a problem. and i dont play play mvc2, and still the infinites at high level play are very hard to pull off. unlike most anime fighters the infinites are braindead and dont take any skill.

I’d love to hear about these anime fighters with infinites that require no skill.

No offense, but you do know that almost every non-VF/Tekken fighting game from Japan, including Street Fighter, qualifies as an anime fighter from it’s designs, artwork and some character archetypes, right?

lol ya but i consider dbz, naruto mostly anime fighters. i dont think sf came from an anime from wat i remember
