I also noticed that there are a lot of small banks, with rendered interiors which you can enter in single player, but the doors are locked in Online. They also have a vault door towards the back but there are never any tellers behind the desk.
On the subject of the player splitting, its not really a tech issue but its very finnicky. What i noticed is that you get dropped into the same free roam you were in before the missions. So lets give an example:
Me and NikesB are in a free roam together.
Willy invites us to a mission (through the job list on phone)
We accept and play the mission
We can vote on other stuff and play together still
OR
Even if all 3 of us vote free roam, it will put Nike and I into our free roam, while Willy will go back to his previous free roam lobby.
If he cant join that one it will either drop him in a random one, or his very own.
That’s pretty much my understanding of the party system. It’s vanilla as fuck and needs some attention.
I also agree that the reward/risk/difficulty for online missions is FUCKED. Spell it out slow. F-U-C-K-E-D.
I can do Violent Duct for Gerald, net $9000, 1k+ RP, and get it done under 2 minutes. Using only regular firearm ammunition which in total runs you $150-$600 depending on weapon type, and how much you missed because your aim is ass. But it’s still $8000+ regardless.
OR
I can do this one mission for Lester, where i blow up two cop cars, get an unescapable 3 star, drive to another police parking lot and blow up a riot van while cops shoot at me from the sidewalk as soon as i turn the corner on the way there (insert rest of mission here because ive never finished it), all while still 2-4 stars. And only get paid $2000. I know the payout because a friend told me, but lets think about this shit for a second.
The only good way to blow up the vehicles is explosives. I think there is only the two cruisers and the van (hopefully). I like to be fast and efficient since im attacking TWO fucking police departments. Any hostility and i get lit up like a christmas tree. could use grenades to blow up the cars but you can only throw one grenade at a time obviously. The cars are split just far enough to where its damn near impossible to hit both cars. So say i tried to hit both, it didnt work, had to spend 1 more on both individual cruisers. I threw 3 grenades at $150 a piece. I already burned $450 of the cash payout. Now to be fair, you do get two freebie nades at the beginning of the mission which knocks it down, to $150 again, but I still have to blow up the riot van and hopefully nothing else. so to end that math here lets just leave it at $300 total cost for grenades. I throw the first grenade, instantly get stars. cops right out front and i get shot. Body armor is gone. $400 out the window(i have heavy armor). Ensue rest of mission with bullshit and similar costs.
I could do it the fast way and use sticky bombs since they dont give you stars just for throwing them, and blow up the cars on my way down the street, but that still uses two bombs at $650 a piece. $1300 of my $2000 payout and ive only done the first objective. No matter what you do the cops at the next objective WILL hit you. Body armor gone again. $1700 total costs. Sticky bomb the van. $2350 total costs. I just paid this socially awkward fuck $350 for a headache, and minimal RP.
So you do math:
Plan A
Payout: $2000
Grenades: -$300
Body Armor: -$400
Total gain: +$1700. Not worth the level of difficulty or time spent.
Plan B
Payout: $2000
Sticky bombs: -$1900
Body Armor: -$400
Total loss: -$350. You just lost money fucktard.
This math is assuming you remembered to hold the button down to actually throw the grenade from your car instead of just dropping it. I didnt the first time and ran out of grenades and got dead. It also assumes there is nothing past the riot van objective wise, and also that you didnt take your personal vehicle and get it blown up. That would add insurance cost of claiming it back.
Now i know what your thinking, “But terrible name-senpai, that is a mission meant for lower ranks who dont have the heavy body armor.”. Yeah well fuck you. I did that mission when it initially became available. With that level equipment you get fucking wrecked. At level 35 with kind of better equipment, you still get wrecked. It just takes a few minutes longer. I did the mission with a friend multiple times and never beat it. It is seriously not worth it. They need to re-evaluate this kind of shit.
