I live in Portland, looking for people to link up with
I’ll be there. Any excuse to go to ground kontrol
Their website has been updated, you can check the first post or look below:
2 more days!
I need volunteers to run brackets. If you’d like to help, let me know.
I could use at least 2 bracket runners per tourney. Just trying to keep things going with minimal downtime.
Ill help if i can still play.
Yes, all volunteers can still play while running brackets.
Hey dudes! Sorry I haven’t had a chance to come back and post more, but I wanted to let you know…
Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting has been replaced with Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Grand Master Challenge (whew) just for this tournament!
We may buy our own board set, too, if the game earns better than Hyper Fighting. :wonder:
Hope you’re all happy with this change… Sammy (I’m sure you know him) highly recommended it, and provided the board + marquee! So, thanks to him!
How long is it going to be up and earning, though? Because while I can’t come tomorrow, if you’re going to have ST at Ground Kontrol for a while (i.e. not just the tournament day), I’m gonna have to come over and drop some dollars on it sometime this week.
and here I was hoping to bust some HF Gief at the tourney…
oh well, Super Turbo will have to do
I can run a bracket if necessary.
3rd Strike is all yours, Sam. (literally?) hahah
We want to keep it ST until Tuesday or Wednesday! So, come down!
Also… anyone who hasn’t made it down, it’s NOT too late to sign up! We’re running a little behind schedule and hoping for more entrants! Get down here!
I’d like to thank everyone that showed up for the tourneys today (all 11 of you!)

The next GK tourney will be on a Saturday next month (probably the 24th). Stay tuned!
That was a fun tourney, wish the turnout had been better but it was still pretty dope. GG’s guys.
also Ray is a beast at NBA Jam
Just want to say for people that haven’t been to Ground Control, you should really support them as a business. They support the classic gaming scene (everyone at Northwest Classic Gaming Expo got a free beer from them!), and apparently they also support the fighting game scene too.
Also the people that work there are that stereotypically Pac Northwest type of ultra-laid-back super friendly people.
Good luck with your tournies there guys, maybe if I get a more reliable car or someone from Seattle is going, I will catch a non-major Portland tourney, you guys are coo.
edit: SHIT, there was an ST tourney and I missed it?
Oh, definitely. It’s an arcade with a game roster that an arcade’s supposed to have. Tilt’s still decent enough and has a highly convenient location (at least for me, I live practically next to it), but it’s long since shifted into more of a ticket-redemption-and-prizes venue. Ground Kontrol’s more pure arcade-style gaming, and I make it over there when I can.
