apparently, the Retro game store owner has been trying to get fighting game and fps tourneys going for quite some time. I will have a meeting with him on the 16th to talk about and show him what goes on with the Fighting game portion of it. I ordered 1 ASUS VH236H on amazon today and when I get it, ill test it to see if it is lagless. oh yeah, im ugly.

The meeting kinda went as planned–The owner of Video Game Etc. will try to find a venue to setup shop on tournies planned between this year and next year. The new problem is getting the right amount of displays to host a tourney.The prize money pot, which WILL be a “humbling amount”, some distributed from me. And my new mission is to fetch as many players around my area as possble to get things accelerated
Im not playing another match of Super Bros again. I almost threw up on a controller. I might search for a different scene because we dont have too many willing for SF. But for DoTa and magic cards. im not into cards
To those tuning into SRK and are from Greenfield or from Vermont to Deerfield/Northampton, I’m gonna pick up the cross again and try to convince these hoes to play these upcoming titles like UMvC3, SCV and KOFXIII. I wasted precious gas money trying to level up, but i fell uninterested in AE and MvC3. gave them a serious try but the games conflicted with my art and job schedule atm.
SO! I’m gonna scope out the best and worst for my area, and I WILL host casuals and tournies. When the scene is at least big enough to call a scene, i’ll lay down bucks for a tournament. By next year, i’ll have 5 asus monitors and I will need console setups from my area so we can have a hub to play at. I currently have 2 asus monitors, a 360 and fighters to play. When the next semester starts at Greenfield Community College, i’ll put up some flyers but dont expect that till January. If you are from my area and you’d like to play online, XBL:SwxrdZ
As I turn put for a full months worth of interest, I can see development in the area moving along just fine! I have gotten some support from my area, so things should stack like Jenga.
And to fine-tune interest once again, I am reaching out to you…Greenfield Lurkers or those apart of the Western Mass scene to send me a pm as to where you are. I got another shipment of ASUS so I’m trying to make this work, and our( as in western mass)combined efforts would be good before planning to reach a verdict on where to meet.

I want Greenfield stuff to happen. Maybe you should approach the Gamers Guild at GCC for coordinating an event next semester. I’ve thought about it, but figured there wasn’t enough of a scene.

You’ve endeared yourself to me already by being a FlyLo and TOKiMONSTA fan. Does anyone run sets at all up here right now? I have a couple of friends that might be down, eventually. If this Xmas works out, I might have a decent setup myself. I’ll keep you cats posted
a tear drop fell, because its hard enough to find people with their head on their shoulders, let alone listen to good music! Unfortunately, this place is bone dry when it comes to SF and MvC, but I’m planning on changing that since many people are on the Smash bandwagon here. I have an ASUS for myself and I pretty much play any fighter, but my focus right now are AE, UMvC3, and KOF.
I go down to CT to play every week so if you want to come along(you too Ska) I’m willing to drive you guys down to play(Marlinpie, Dieminion, Aquasilk, Noel Brown usually go in the monthly tourneys there!) by all means keep this thread as a log of progress for us to grow here lol

There are Casual fights down at the Gaming etc where there are a humble few who go down to level up. Its in stratford,ct which is a hell of a drive down, but i usually work in New Haven before I go, but these coming weeks I wont be there to work. Yep I do live in greenfield! I wish there were more from here to play right now, but that isnt the case
