Green Lantern TAS: There may be hope

Razor would have bothered me if they hadn’t taken him on board with them. If he was just the “Returning Conflicted Villain” for the whole season, that would have been annoying, but stripping him of his powers and dragging him along was not something I was expecting. Also, I at least thought Atrocitus was well done. He seemed properly menacing, angry, and vengeful.

Ganthet was PERFECT in this show. He may have been tied with Kilowog as my favorite part of the show.

I came to this thread thinking it’s a tool assisted speedrun :frowning:

You…Watched K-ON? :shake: My sympathies…

Young Justice just feels too forced to me. trying too hard to be original while using characters that are little more than copies of others = FAILURE!!! Still, Batman and Justice League are solid in my book. I think GL will be too.

-Starhammer-

Not sure where Young Justice is trying to be original? Where would you rather have DC draw upon the characters for the series? The whole concept of the Young Justice comic series was that it was sidekick focused. Same theme continues in the show, even though they’re not related.

As for the drama of GL:TAS; Hal and Kilowog is executed fine; but it’s really standard fare. The character dynamic is rather safe and familiar. It’s boring. Why is the show focusing only on Hal and Kilowog? Why isn’t the show focused on the Corps as a greater whole? Hal could still be the primary focus of the series, but sticking those two in the middle of fucking nowhere to find their way home doesn’t get me excited to keep watching.

Red Foreman couldn’t even elevate my opinion after a second viewing. I’ll give it a few more eps for the story to progress, though.

Enjoyed it overall but I despise the whole bland clone war CG but then again I am partial to 2D anything also the Red Lanterns were not Red Lanterns they were closer to Sinestro Corps if anything. Atrocitus reminded me of the main villain from Reboot for some reason, not really sure why. It has potential but man they need to address some issues because just from that one hour there were already qute a few, but it was better than the new Teen Titans or YJ. Although in the comics sadly enough if you stuck with young justice it is actually better than the new teen titans, NT needs to just go away or get new writers.

I really enjoyed this episode and I can’t wait for the show to start in march I believe.

[details=Spoiler]The action was really nice, the interactions between hal and kilowog was fun to watch and hal overall was a very likeable protagonist. The red lanterns were really well done imo, razers a hit or miss character but overall the red lanterns themselves were handled well and atrocitus was just a complete badass. The destruction of that planet actually caught me off guard. Plus the series set some potentially nice future stories what with the implication that the guardians and the green lantern corps as a whole aren’t as pure as they attempt to appear.

Overall another awesome cartoon to watch, amazing how 2 years ago there was barely anything to watch and now there are so many awesome animated series its a little overwhelming[/details]

Looks like the series will air new eps. in March. The 3rd will have them re-air the premiere, which is cool IMO for those that may have missed it on TV-

Saw the first two parter. Solid, very solid. More than I thought it’d be.

Morally conflicted Red Lantern guy = Zuko?

If anyone wants to know what’s in store in upcoming eps-

Get hype!

Looking forward to the show…hoping for a Flash guest star.

The Flash IN SPACE?
I’d say you’d have a better chance of these character showing up-
Omega Men, Brainiac 2’s LEGION, maybe the the LoSH, Adam Strange, Lobo.
Then again, Jonah Hex fought in an inter-galactic arena, so maybe Flash could’ve used his time travelling treadmill and a glitch happened and he ended up in space =V
Not really digging it.

Well the Flash did have a Blue Lantern ring at some point so it is a possibility.

Same. Cgi can go screw. Makes everything look bland. I was hoping for some shit that looked like Emerald Knights.

Eh the CGI looks nice but I too would’ve prefered if it was 2D animation.
Anyway Ep. 3 is out and
Here’s hoping Sinestro is gonna be the main villain after the Red Lanterns
It was okay. I maintain my opinion that Razer is one of the worst cartoon villains/anti-heroes ever. His voice is annoying, his name is annoying, hell, even is design is annoying. Also [details=Spoiler]it was nice seeing the Spider Guild, but they were very much diminished from their former glory in the comics, when they had a master plan to punch interdimensional warp holes into entire galaxies to make a giant web. Here, they’re just minor villains with a really awful plan of making people endure their worst enemies, and then eating them. I’m not sure how they’re related. Maybe people that suffer become more tasty?[/details]

This show is solid. Saying it again.

I like Razor. He reminds me of Zuko.

Hmmmm, completely forgot this existed. I hope this doesn’t mean Im in the minority when it comes to loving this show.

I like this alot and razor is my fav character. I never thouht of an remorseful red lantern tortured by his need to use a power he despises. But I like the team so far, this show is alot better than I expected it to be.

I just don’t like iya’s girl boner for razor. Everything else is grand.
