Niners 1 week old offensive scheme should really help them turn this season around.
So I was watching Guard Crush 9 and they had character lock. I think it’d be interesting if we made the next RR a character lock with no mains. I don’t think people realize how much better your character gets when you use others. And we’d get to try to learn matchups, instead of counterpicking (because so far I’ve seen everyone (aside from Scamp, Luger, Ramen, and Psycho) counterpick, myself included.
I know the majority of us have a little knowledge of another character, and some of us have a lot of knowledge about a lot of characters. I think it’d be interesting to see what everyone else knows about someone other than their main. I know it gives a distinct disadvantage to those who only play one character (specifically Luger and Ramen), and that’s obviously not what I’m looking for. But I’d like to see how far Rex can take Ken or Sakura, or what Scamp can do with Ibuki, or Psycho with Seth. Plus, I wanna see what a Honda vs Sakura matchup may look like, with Rex having more knowledge of the game, but Mute having the matchup advantage.
But, if not everyone is interested (like those who only feel comfortable with one player in a real setting), then maybe this is something we can do directly after the next RR, since we seem to get through these in about 80 mins when we try. So, maybe we do 2 RRs next time around. I’m interested to hear everyone’s opinion in this. Just thought it’d be an interesting twist.
Sounds fun to me. (Though I’d prefer it as an after event if we got through the main fast enough.) I never counterpick, because I’m too terrible with my main to try to beat somebody with an alt.
When’s the next one? I have a meeting next Wednesday, the 13th, so I might end up missing two in a row. That would suck.

The point of character lock is to force you to stick with your main. Character lock with no mains is kinda silly.

But, nevertheless, it’s looking like the food thing is back on.

Lol wait. I’ll make broccoli, cheese, and rice (that’s one dish). I don’t want this to be some potluck, because someone will end up bringing some nasty shit that no one wants. But if I make broccoli, cheese, and rice, then I won’t do chips. So it’ll be that, wings, and dogs. And obviously drinks. Dammit we need to take the convo about the hookup back to the other forum.

Get your game up in time to rep STL in ohio, the more tournament experience and gaming before hand the better.
I wanna see everyone there, i will promise to try to finish by 10pm or so for those who have places to be.
And since its a friday night, we can run a character lock RR immediatly after(maybe even during the end of the first) to try it out and see. Other ideas include a non main RR, low tier RR, new character only RR, female only RR, etc. Maybe do some experiments after the normal ones the next time. I have been thinking of making these weekly since i’m seeing such great progress from everyone, the results change every time and its only a matter of time till we see some new winners!
Wish I could come. That would make a great weekend. SF on Friday. SF on Saturday. Then football on Sunday! But, alas, I have to be at work at 7:30 on Friday.
Rex, are you gonna make it Saturday? If so, can you do the same at some point Saturday? I’m sure some type of structure would be accepted for a bit of time. We have all night to play random anyway.
If you can’t make it Saturday, let it be known, so someone can grab the community monitor when they come over Friday. Then I’ll just bring it back to you on Monday. That is, assuming we play. If not, I’ll just wait til the RR, which is also next week. Correct?
