I would say if you have the time to run it 3 vs 3, one game, double elimination. But definitely make it one game matches if you’re gonna have 3 vs 3.
yo Beeze bat great games today man! it was a pleasure meeting u!
Same here, but i doubt ii’ll get it. 12:00 is a bit too early.
cool man nice meeting you too and good games man.
O also the tournament is NOT double elimination only single b/c that would take twice as long at least. Sorry for the misconception  and the timer will be on so rounds won’t go past 999seconds  .
please everyone try to come if you can and invite anyone you can b/c the bigger the better and all are welcome  .
even if you don’t want to enter the tourny for watever reason but you can make it please come b/c we have other TV’s that have other games on them that you can play for free :wgrin: and you can watch the tournament b/c were trying to max out that room so that the school see’s how great Game-Zone Recreation is    .
Count me in!
Oh sheeeitt lol so that was Toncho on the TV with KoF XI that day, awesome. I might be joining i aint sure i have class at 1, so i actually hope it starts earlier. Single elimination is probably the best when we have heavy competitors.
so the cvs2 tournament has an end of day pay out of at least $120 to the winners or is that $120 grand prize for having the highest point totals for all games combined at the end of the season?
just wondering if people entering for the first time have a chance of getting some money if they win or are just padding the total point winners pockets.
the 120$ is the lowest possible for the best team overall out of all of the games we had/have which is basically the grand prize for the whole entire thing but I can tell you right now it is higher then that. But for the individual games it’s a little bit different like Capcom vs SNK 2 is based soley off of how many people enter into it (CvS 2). :wgrin: So bring as many people as you can. We’ll probably have at least 20 people but we want more to enter so we have at least 30 if not more  .
When will their be another Tourney I want in I play with about 5 different people on a Daily basis:wonder:
PLS get at me on the Perfect Dark Tournies
Yea I think it be better for one game double elim. This way it will be about the same length and people have the oppurtunity to play more people.
Wooo!! I’m really excited about this tournament! :wgrin:
So please anybody and everybody that can make it please come:wgrin:
It will be really fun  even if your not entering come and watch it or play on our other consoles for some other games.
I’m going try and make it out.
Does anyone know the quickest way to Hayward from the North Bay? There is no 880S access from 580E because of the freeway collapse, so I’m not sure how to get out to Hayward.
Take the San Mateo Bridge, highway 92 iirc. It leads you right into Hayward. 101 and 280 connect to it, just don’t go off to Half Moon Bay. Oh, it’s over 7 miles long…so get comfy.
Good games to everyone today. NPT forever!
gg’s indeed!:wgrin: too bad we did not get enoughy kof matches in yesterday!:arazz: hoping to see some heads out there for some kof xi next week!
results?
So why exactly did the winners of the tourney not get shit? They tried explaining it to me but it didn’t make any sense.
I was wondering that as well

Mad thanks to everyone that came out and participated and or came and watched
dang those guys from keystone whooped the heck out of just about everybody pretty bad
there first guy didn’t even loose until the last guy during the championships  even then it was really close and there last guy didn’t even get a chance to play b/c he didn’t have to. I guess none of us were even worthy of playing him
well I thought some of our people from chabot would do better against them but aparently not:lol: but it’s all good.
As for the pay outs basically keep in mind that this is at a community college and it is thrown by a club from from there and we have basically almost no support as far as funds and such from the school so this tournament and every tournament we have had this semister all 17 of them are basically a fundraiser for our club.
ok now for our system that we have/used for this semister. There is a grand prize (cash) for the best team out of all 17 tournaments we have had (there are also cash prizes for 2nd,3rd and 4th). So for each game there are points for each place (1st = 4points, 2nd = 3points, 3rd = 2points, 4th = 1point) so whoever has the most points overall out of the whole thing (17 games) gets the grand prize.
So for each game there are prizes along w/ points for 1st-4th place and there is a cash prize for 1st and 2nd place and other things too like CD’s, candy, pens, popcorn and such.
It’s $5 to enter per person. And you can get a team together up to 3people the problem is that when you have 3people you have a higher chance of winning but you also have to split the cash prize w/ your team mates. So for a game like Capcom vs SNK 2 you can team up but you can go solo also but if you win solo you don’t have to split that w/ anyone but you.
I’m actually new to the scene as far as entering tournaments and such and I’m sorry for any misunderstandings that were conceived and I will definatly make sure that it goes better next time as far as pay outs.
But good games to everyone and I had a great time over all :wgrin:
Once again thanks to everyone that entered/was there for the tournament
all of you have greatly helped our club and helped fundraised for it b/c we have a big event we are trying to do which is an anime con on July 6th (2007) called the Kinyobi con thrown by Game-Zone Recreation   Thanks again
I wish I could’ve made it out to see everyone play.
Not to be a dick (mad props for throwing a fighting game tournament of any kind) but you should’ve been a little more clear about the payout in the OP.
It was mentioned that you had to participate throughout the whole series that your club was throwing together. The odd thing is that instead of posting this for the entire series, the OP was made a month before the CVS2 tourney started, making it the LAST game in your series.
So if a team didn’t participate the ENTIRE series, like everyone in your club I’m guessing, their payout would be next to nothing. It does seem a little sketch that the more people who come out that aren’t from your school, help make the payout for the people who are in the club that have been there for the entire series, higher.
No disrespect (sorry for ranting), but I was just confused with the way the whole thing was put together.
