Takamura’s fights are all bullshit
That character is straight up the worst thing in the manga

the current match in HnI is the best one in the series only barely beating
Date vs Ricardo.
Terrible. He undermines every point about the series because he’s such an absurd mary sue.
He has barely any match experience, he never spars, he doesn’t train except for weight training, and the head of the gym can’t teach him shit yet he is the world champ in 3 weight classes and the only reason he doesn’t have more is because people are too shook to fight him. If he wanted to make a japanese heavy-weight champ in his series, more power to him, but he shouldn’t have made him so ridiculous when everyone else has to take it seriously.

I’m confused, I just went through sendou vs ippo ver 2.
Does the manga actually change in terms of pacing? Is it just completely unbelievable stuff?
There are only a few fights that get unbelievable. But more people start fighting, so you get more fights, but fights that you won’t care about as much. The big issue that most people have is that fights that SHOULD be free take a fuckload of chapters to resolve for no reason.
I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t read even as far as I am.
I noticed with the 10 round rights, that some chapters pass 2 rounds but nothing really happens.
Ippo gotten better about not being a heavy bag in the ring for where I’m at, does this stay consistent into the future?

I mostly dislike him because of lolplotarmor.
I don’t feel like Ippo has plot armor. His fights to me feel more like he is struggling way more than he should be. His entire gimmick is that he punches harder than pretty much anyone in the world (for his weightclass), so his winning strat is always the same-- land a punch.
Its why I hate Kamogawa so much as a trainer-- he isn’t teaching him shit. A team of Nekomata and Kamogawa as a training team for Ippo would make him an absolute beast.

Well of course the main character has some plot armor, that’s to be expected.
But, takamura is just. . . I was rooting for the bear actually.
