Akuma vs Akuma is just flat out annoying all your advantages are gone and you both just rape each other.
I generally hate mirrors period I try to avoid them where possible on any fighting game with any chars.
Akuma is very top of middle tier now and Urien is just below him my my thats a change and a half he was once up with Makoto, Ryu was one time above Akuma too now hes Below Urien.
Yang is right up with Dudley & Makoto in upper mid.
Makoto is still high mid but from what I hear generally in Japan she’s a hit or miss high mid. She’s only there because she can potentially run you into the dirt off one guess. Urien, and Dudley are considered better tournament characters in the long run because they have more solid options and can take hits well. Being able to come back from mistakes is important in tournaments. Aegis pretty much always guarantees damage/positional advantage and it literally builds more bar for you. Dudley can confirm damage from any angle and only needs one EX to set you up for crazy damage.
Unless you’re a character like Yun or Makoto who can win by doing the right thing once. Yun is still more solid though just because he literally becomes better than the entire cast by a long shot whenever he activates and he can activate multiple times in a round. Getting touched while he’s in Genei will lead to at losing at least 40 percent or more health. Even when he’s already used up half his bar.
Makoto can be really hit or miss once people understand her mind games yet when she does hit it’s usually absolutely devastating. Which is why she stays where she is. If you play smart with her it’s tough to get taken down.
Akuma overall is an extremely solid character. He has good high and low attacking options and never needs bar to do damaging combos. When he gains bar he basically just has more ways to end you than he already did without bar. His poor defense and stun meter keep him less solid than the top mid/top though. Yet…like most any other character in the game…play smart and understand the character and Akuma can work. It’s tough as nails to get in on a good Akuma and he always has potential to do damage.
I think Akuma has more speedy combo’s then the rest, though every character has its flaws afterall.
i actually get better results using akuma against yun players than using my hugo… i rush the shit out of yun when i corner him… he has no solid wake up… and akuma can run from yun when he activates…
