I sometimes get to use this tool aswell in a match. He could use his Ultra after a damage trade. Sure with a FADC you can use your ultra all the time.
But i tell you it is really hard to use it in the right time. The late startup of this skill require fast reactions to counter your opponent jump in.
On the other way it is easy to land against chars who have a slow and long jump, like chun li or Rufus.
i have never seen lk listed as invincible to anything and i just took it to training mode and had reversal lk tatsu stuffed by sweep, throw, fireball and jump in.
what kind of invincibility are you saying that it has?
A lot of times even though we test things under our own controls it may never duplicate actual real life situations. Sometimes we think what holds true for us after a train mode sesh is the end all be all…maybe it was some sort of mispercepetion…

upper body invicible to physical attacks. A correction to what I say, it should be as following:
LK tatsu -> 1-8 frames invincible to physical attacks (upper body)
MK tatsu -> 1-11 frames invincible to physical attacks (upper body)
HK tatsu -> 1-14 frames invincible to physical attacks (upper body)
EX tatsu -> 1-8 frames total invincible (throw, fireballs, physical attacks)
The startup for these moves respectively are: 7f, 10f, 13f, 7f

If all holds true, we just solved what to do if an opponent jumps around us. it seems we have the answer to jump in’s that aren’t safe jumps, including neutral jumps.
I tested it a bit with Ryu and lk tatsu and it worked on everything that wasn’t a safe jump. Everything that hit above his waist was counter hit, and everything that hit below traded for the follow up attack.
I’m not sure of any character specifics but very nice find!
Auto correct lk tatsu owns cross ups as well. If they didn’t time it late as a late meaty, then you are good to go.

The boxes with no fill and green borders are the vulnerable hitbox, and they clearly exist in his top half, including his foot.
That said, I don’t know how else to explain how much pwnage tatsu does to zangief’s lariat.
You are right as well. I just read from the book and that says “Upper body invincible” same as T.Hawk Rising uppercut body move. Yes, I see the green boxes and the developer’s data is absolutely right.
I think it means Gouken body movement makes his upperbody “lean back” and actually makes his hit box stay behind himself, instead of “invincible”, because I clearly see the green boxes… =.= what do you think?
Thanks for posting, but thats actually from quite a while ago. And Gouken shouldnt be fighting Cammy in that way. Btw, the cammy is not good where she didn’t uppercut me for a lot of times, and her spacing is no good either. Anyways, all of us have improved through more training, more strats, more experience.
Recently I am fighting a gamertag called “KIRITAMPOPO” and she’s around 4500-4800PP last night, I lost 6-7 straight wins. Her style is quick, lots of tick n throws, tick n uppercut, if I do EX GF, she just counter with close HP or close LP. Then she dash under below and play her nightmare poking games incorporate with her dive kicks. arggh, i was so scared I don’t want to go into her room anymore.
The other fight was against a Rufus, again it is 7-8 straight lost to him. gamertag “SAULABIS”, still I am improving but that guy is improving at the same time… I lost around 900PP just fighting these 2 guys.
